Beechy was wanting an open topped bus to celebrate our 11th/12th position but Reays has put the kibosh on it due to Covid regulations.

Instead there’ll be a small gathering in The Halston beer garden where Neil Lennon will give a talk on the demons of drink,

WelI I paid my £10 for most matches and just wanted somewhere for a mini-rant as so disappointed how we blew our great chance in the run in. Yes the Covid outbreak and postponements did affect us and we were playing catch up all the time. No denying it our form in the remaining games was dismal - Cheltenham, Scunthorpe and Southend games apart. Beech never admits the obvious and always going on about hard done by we were on referee decisions and seems perfectly happy with a mid-table finish and never tells it as it is when we just didn't turn up. He should not be excused from criticism. Twenty two games and just four wins is obviously not promotion form but looking at the Cheltenham performance shows we are capable of competing with the best. Substitutions are always subjective but many of Beech's left me totally confused. Why bring strikers on with 2 minutes to go? He placed far too much faith in Zanzala - runs around a lot and is a nuisance admittedly but fouls and loses possession far too much. Mellish lost his impact and should have been rested. I do rate him but he was generally struggling in the last 10-15 games and lost his way for me. Would have liked to have seen more of Taylor Charters who may well have offered more. He obviously expected more goals from Mellish but they dried up at crucial times. Hayden, McDonald and Bennett when fit were generally OK and I hope we have them next season. Goals from our non strikers just dried up which was disappointing - oh for another Grainger. Gimme Toure? I'll get my coat. Guy and Riley were generally impressive and two of our better players - as were Kayode and Patrick - always enjoyed watching them in full flow - would expect all four to score more though. Would love to have seen more of Walker and even Scott when things weren't going our way. Undecided about the keepers - both are excellent at this level and Farman got more of a look in but whenever Normal played he did really well. Still there's always next season - fans back hopefully. Yes we did get a reputation for being direct and over physical - true in some games but against Cheltenham we did bring it down and played a bit. Just need to see that more often.

And a special shout out for John, staying at the top of the greasy pole, whilst bringing nothing whatsoever of benefit to the club.
