McKirdy is coming up for 24 and a half year old and isn’t yet at 100 appearances in all Comps. This will be his seventh campaign as a Pro. Time is moving quick if he wants to make something of the undoubted talent he has…

I agree, he just has that dash of unpredictability that you don't often see - though like many of your quality top players who display this skill he unfortunately has issues.

I am always interested what youngsters think of our players, not the little shits who kick the back of my seat they can get stuffed but my lads favourite player was McKirdy, I am guessing that kids like the flamboyant type of player and see things differently at times as they want to be entertained, as adults we will settle for a 1-0 boring home win because of what it means but it wont hold a kids interest watching it.

Brilliant for McCarron to get to play against Ajax the other day. Played in both games in the same day for some odd reason, but great experience even if they got humped in both games.
Couple of players going out on loan has given him a chance with the u-23s this year, but big season for him.

Such a shame we couldn’t hang on to him a wee bit longer. Could have made all the difference in the second half of last season. Hopefully it works out for the lad at Elland Road.

I was talking to a young lass recently who knows the pair of Branthwaite and McCarron.

Said that Jarad took his football seriously but McCarron does not, he is more interested in how many girls fancy him and he loves himself.

Her view obviously as I have not met either of them.

Couldn't see Bielsa putting up with that sort of attitude. Has he not been there three years now?
Sure Liam has not done the dirty on her at some time?

Nah, wasn't like that she said it in a jocular way - sounded more like she was happy to mention that she knew them both.

It was me that brought up the footie as the finals were on at the time.

It wasn't like we didn't know what we were letting go and Port Vale also let him go.

Swindon are a fairly big club for this level so basically they have taken a punt.

What I don't understand is that isn't he the sort of player that we were supposed to sign and 'improve' to sell on?

Sam Cosgrove already moving from Birmingham, Wigan the favourites apparently. Any knock on effect on our fee?

Think it's just a loan move to Wigan, the other destination was rumoured to be Rotherham, guess any impact on the fee would depend on any appearance based clauses in his move to Birmingham that we might miss out on

Ex-Carlisle trialist Lawrence Shankland ends two-year stay at Dundee United; Scotland international scored 40 goals for the Scottish Premiership club; Striker completed medical in Belgium ahead of move to Jupiler Pro League side Beerschot

Strange move that.

Not really,i would imagine the Belgium league to be better than the SPL.

Good bit of experience for the lad that will be.

I would love a couple of years abroad for experience should I have been a footballer.

Of all the choices they were saying he had, surprised he has gone there

Jamie Devitt ruptured his thigh last night vs Scunny, out for 3 months. Glad we never got him back, barely strung consecutive games together since he left us!

Possibly offered him a bigger role than the others - guaranteed start or something along those lines.

Got to be something like that, otherwise would have thought he would have gone to Sheffield Wednesday or Rotherham

He maybe thinks Cotterill's style suits him more.
