There’ll still be fans thinking we should have kept him and that he wasn’t given a fair chance. Signing for a bottom half conference team after 6 months without a club tells its own story. Same with McKirdy, had to go on trial at Port Vale to earn a contract and released 6 months later.

The manager sees these lads in training most days and is far better placed to make a judgement on them than we are seeing them for half an hour or so every fortnight.

How anyone can query any of Chris Beech's transfer dealings is beyond me.

He's taken a relegation threatened club to the top end of the table in a year.

No secret that they’ve been trying to offload Graham and Grigg all window to make space within the salary cap for new signings.

Absolutely disastrous signing for Sunderland twice over. 60 appearances in total and 2 goals - one against Aston Villa kids and one deflected off his arse which he knew little about.

I think this is a fantastic opportunity for McKirdy. Leicester have a great reputation for player development. I was reading about how Jamie Vardy was almost unmanageable when he was signed from Fleetwood but he managed to get his act together to be one of the most exciting players in English football. Harvey Barnes has been with Leicester since he was 9 and looks a real talent. McKirdy got a few mentions in tonight's match report . I really hope he can settle at Leicester and make something of his natural ability.

Names as debutant in the match report not trialist so he’s basically going back a step in his development and that’s not necessarily good. He should’ve either gone to a non league team who play it on the deck or gone abroad. I was reading recently that younger players who go abroad to the lower leagues in a Scandinavia tend to do very well for themselves.

I enjoyed watching him play, warts and all. He often brought colour to dull afternoons and was, in some ways, an old fashioned entertainer. He was a real character and played for himself, not the GPS vest. You can just imagine what he thought to Pressley's low press.
I remember a game, I think it was Port Vale away, when he seemed more interested in getting involved with the home fans than playing. And, I guess that was part of the problem.
Football can be so robotic and tedious at times. I hope he can knuckle down and realise his potential.
Jon Colman summed him up perfectly - "a one man soap opera".
