Sounds like we’ll be missing one or two first choice players tomorrow….

“It will be very clear on Saturday afternoon when the 18 are selected who they are. I’m not going to make Crawley’s match preparation easier by saying who it is.”

What happened to Harris last night?

He'd barely been on the pitch for 30 seconds and he was limping.

Asron Villa, used 14 players to win the league in 1981.
In Vietnam it was 19.
These days you need 40-50 players.
Seems unsustainable for lower league minnows like ourselves.

Injuries are on the rise but some on here would rather blame the manager as it suits thier agenda.

I think the reason for more 'injuries' is down to huge advances in ultrasound scanning techniques. Players say their ankle or knee doesn't feel right. They are then sent for a scan. Inevitably the scan finds some ligament or muscle which has a 'tear' and swelling. The player then has several weeks of treatment. Previously footballers had to 'man up' and play through niggling injuries as x-rays showed nothing wrong so inevitably all clubs are getting more injuries. Simmo took a chance on players with a poor injury record so we are suffering more than other clubs.

I think Simmo's agreeing with me about ultrasound scans finding more 'injuries'. He also said he could say some negative things but he's not going to. I can read between the lines there but he needs to tread carefully with what he says with some of our younger players.

I think Arsenal used 16 in 1970-71 when they won the double.

Much different times of course. Billy Bremner hardly ever trained, Leeds just filled him full of pain killers,
patted his head and sent him out again for the next match. That didn't do him or many others much good
as they retired and got older.

Aye fair enough, player welfare and health should be taken seriously of course.
Make it very expensive to run a football club though.
