Thomas: leaving Shef Utd in May - they’d only take him back if a better offer was on the table or they were paying him up.

Loft: contract expires in summer likely to be released, why spend money to bring g him back (pay his wages)

Olomola: manager hates him unlikely to be recalled unless an agreement via transfer or loan can be made with another club.

Carroll: again out of contract in the summer, why spend money lying wages for someone whose leaving them ? - we might have a chance with this one as he came as a favour to SP from one of his best mates.

In reality all 4 are likely to still be here, unless Fella gets a permanent move.

That's a depressing read that pal :-(

so we are stuck with them then, god knows why the mik tray man agreed full season loans for all of them!

Cos last season our half season loans buggered off at Xmas and cost us a promotion push when we were flying

Be just and fear not

Olomola and Thomas are the only 2 I’d be bothered about keeping.

Thomas will obviously stay, but if Scunthorpe can move Olomola on permanently then they’ll terminate his loan with us, but that may not be as likely now the goals have dried up. Beech doesn’t seem to rate him so I doubt there’d be any attempts by us to sign him.

Loft and Carroll can go as far as I’m concerned. Need far better quality, but for the reasons above it might be difficult to get rid.

If Branthwaite comes back on loan, that would already leave us with 6, so one would already be sat up in the stands. Beech talked about bringing more loans in so in all likelihood I can foresee a situation where we have a few very pissed off loan players sat in the stands on match days and training during the week. Won’t be great for squad morale when we’re battling to save our league status. What a farcical situation, all the result of a summer of terrible decisions and terrible recruitment.

Thing is, had the loan players been successful this season like they were last season, we’d probably be in that exactly the same position with the January recall options in the loan deals.

Say if Olomola had 15 goals, Scunthorpe would want him back like fleetwood did with Nadesan and Rotherham did with Yates. Likewise Loft, Leicester would probably recall him and loan him to league 1 for a bigger chunk of his wages.

Season loans with a January recall clause are effectively half season loans if the player does really well.

Could Branthwaite be signed on a pre contract arrangement going to his new club in summer rather than clogging a loan place up?

Coudnt sign a pre contract as he still has terms with us.... could potentially be an agreement to sell in summer - though I’m not sure he’d be covered by the buying clubs insurance in that case...
