Looks like Flyde are in the final. Be good if Salford win the other, two Northern teams. Just shows what a bit of money can do.

It is going to be a proper 'non league club' replacing another one in the league and more than likely a 'proper league club' will replace another as well.

Sounds fair enough to me.

Screw Salford I would sooner see Eastleigh in there.

Fylde vs Eastleigh in the final for me (fk moneybags Salford). 4500 at Wembley in attendance. Fylde could be the next NW powerhouse like Fleetwood to pass us on their way to L1 whilst we continue to meander in this division.

2,963 for a playoff semi final - Penrith would get a higher crowd!

Is it even worth opening Wembley for a crowd of 5,000

Don't know anything about AFC Fylde, however guessing they have benefitted in the past few years from Blackpool boycotters. Now that is all sorted, I'm guessing they are going to struggle for crowds however well they are doing. Only 1500 there for their playoff semi final yesterday.

I one to Blackpool a month ago and once you leave the front its like Fallout Las Vegas. The whole main shopping street was to let! I had to google where Flyde? was - I doubt the locals would be able to afford one trip to Wembley - never mind two - was hoping Wrexham went up from the playoffs - at least they are a real club

Tuned into Salford v Eastleigh when it was 1-1 and it was a cracking game.
Zebroski , who has been around a bit , had the las pen saved.
If Salford get into the league, I imagine they will spend further and would be one of the favourites to win it next season.
I am sure they will manage to get a few folk turning up.
Level of support for these clubs seems to be irrelevant to their success, who need supporters cluttering up the place, they are only an inconvenience.

Looks a very sparce crowd indeed...I know playing at Wembley is massive but is it really essential when you are never gonna fill it.. surely a decent club stadium would suffice

Should've been at Deepdale,Ewood Pk etc. Maybe even at Morecambe for these two!

First half over and the standard is absolutely dire, worst I've seen in recent years in the NL Playoff Final. Needless to say whoever comes up will be wiping the floor with us next season. ;-)

But i suppose it should be a decent few boozers around the ground next season.? And of course outnumber the home fans when we visit.

Having been 4 times now with either Curzon or Workington i cannot drastically remember a mass of pubs nearby, its in quite a housing area really.......although only about a 25 minute walk from central manchester.

Your going to get a shock, thier ground is like a meccano version of Scunthorpes ground, most of their fans are day-trippers who take camera's only there hoping to catch a rare showing from the owners and they have attached some quite scummy elements in among the extras, had a couple of nasty incidents happen when in conf north.

will be surprised if their away end can cope with more than 500 fans, its a tin shed with a portacabin behind it........was fine for curzon and their 50 fans.

on the plus side for fans they do offer extremely cheap entrance prices, think they been keeping it about a tenner to get in......but that iis about that.

Think it said it all on Salford on my first visit when they played workington in the play-offs and a cameraman got a group of people to stand near where i was and 'fake' football emotion for their tv series.

I used to watch Hinckley United for my football fix back in the day if I couldn't get to a Carlisle United game.

Pretty dire football to be fair most of the time, it was odd when Crawley came to town when they were on the way up and filled the town with thugs wanting to fight anyone.

Cracking little new build ground for a non league side, think they were in the play-offs to get into the Conference and that is as far as they got and it went tits up.

My next door neighbour used to do volunteer stuff for them and sat in the team coach to all away games, he never missed a game in years.

Don't get me started on the food there - it was fantastic and off the scale in quality and price.

I do find it strange though as a stones throw away is Barwell, probably half a mile away is their ground and it is tiny and they do rather well in the lower leagues and Currock is probably bigger, think of Durdar having a lower league team.

Weird place Barwell - I woke up on many floors/sofas back in the day with a bad head and not knowing how I got there or where I was, I blame it on the high UFO sightings in the area.

I seen Hinckley play a few times when they were In the Conf. North down at Reds. They were usually very competitive games and both have fallen down the leagues since then. One going bust of course.

It's only three years since Salford beat Reds in a playoff final and starting next season they'll be four divisions apart FFS.

It’s going to tricky in the league for a smaller side like Salford. Their media team will perhaps struggle to raise their profile or get them any coverage.
I must say i’d really love to see tv bosses show some imagination and take a chance on Salford in the FA Cup’s earlier rounds and get them on the telly.

I'm sick of the instant shots of the Class of '92 celebrating whenever they score a goal. Forget the crowd scenes in jubilation.

They'll probably have the maximum amount of loans from City&United also.

Not a massive fan of Salford and the way they have done things, but it's not that different from the way other clubs have been financially backed and built up from nothing.
Would be nice to think that fans of clubs was what it was really about, but the game is moving further and further away from the traditional view of what a football club was.
Having fans who are passionate, salt of the earth types is largely irrelevant if you haven't got rich backers.

It was ace back in the day, I used to go to Pink Panther and grab on of those six foot odd posters to adorn my bedroom wall as a teenager (weirdly now my daughters bedroom) and the classic Smiths poster was there for years, it had tour dates at the bottom.

Sadly times changed and it was progression in music that meant that it had to be replaced with a six foot poster of the iconic 'lemon' Stone Roses cover.

It was almost tribal back then, you were making a statement.

It is what it is with Salford. In a different world, if Philip Day had stated that he was going to build a new 25k stadium and bankroll us to the top of the Championship, we wouldn't be complaining.

I probably wouldn't but there would be plenty in the Paddock who have worn grooves in the concrete for their very feet in the same spot for years.

They'd go kicking and screaming or better still take it with them to be incorporated into the new ground.

I see that Meppen-Walter is playing for Chorley today.

0-0 at half time with Spennymoor.

I would say that he will be playing in the Conference National next season if they win but unsure of his contract.
