Didn't we have a girl on here at one time who worked on the JK Show?

I hope that the judgement of Jezza's role in this tragedy doesn't turn into some kind of kangaroo court.

Tragic it has taken this to remove this horrible programme off air, what kind of person takes enjoyment from watching the countries great uswashed airing their pathetic dirty laundry in public giving what is in their minds 15 minutes of fame when in reality it's shame

Hopefully that's the end of it - shame for the odd episodes where they get ill children etc but in the whole it's trash, yes i've seen a few episodes.

I'm surprised no ones topped themselves before, there was an episode called "Did my son steal my sex toy" can you imagine if he did and the redicule he'd get outside.

At least we’re not Stockport

Haven't seen it in years now, didn't mind a quick ten minute blast of watching it back in the day seeing two radgies arguing over some heavily tattooed 'bird' and all three of them not knowing who the father of the baby is.

Saying that, I hardly watch any tv these days but must be the only saddo to have a video library in the attic - old videos and all in their original cases on display, thousands of them.

When people say that they miss the eighties then they should go in my attic, I sometimes go up there just so as I can feel the sensation of being back in 1988 in a Blockbuster store.

I was up there ages last time in the sports section and brought down loads of Carlisle United and boxing videos and the missus went mad and threatened to skip them all as apparently 'nobody has videos any more' seriously....

I could have ended up on that show going toe to toe with my missus due to my excessive hoarding.

That was my choice of video store too - I didn't mention it because not many on here will know of it :)

I wish I had some of their old display stands mind you - I certainly would have a use for them.

Did anyone see the episode featuring the Carlisle United owners and supporters?

The Carlisle owners were accused of lying/cheating/manipulation and not treating their supporters right. The Carlisle owners though refused to take a lie detector test because they wanted an NDA, something Jeremy wouldn't agree too. Jeremy though thought the owners were guilty 100% and brought Graham in who suggested sending the owners to a weeks long boot camp. However to the shock of the audience/Jeremy/Graham, the Carlisle supporters decided to let them off and said they'd still go back and give them money each week to be treat like third class citizens.

Is that the one that turned into a Cellar 5/Booze Buster?

All is not good with old videos and young kids though, I did them a kids section (alright I did myself a kids section) Banana Splits and the likes is all good and this weird cartoon with an ace name 'Groovy Ghoulies' but then they stick on some old Mighty Mouse, it was amusing when the characters were getting blind drunk but when they started singing about 'darkies' picking cotton the kids started asking questions then that one had to go off.

Good call, they also stocked up on 'exotic' video tapes like the Phillips Video 2000.

They also had the full range of the 'erotic' VHS collection of Electric Blue apparently....

Munchy, do you remember the Video Shop on Blackwell Road by Rose Street?

I believe it catered for those with a specific interest if you asked!

I remember it well - I used to stock up on my Mastertronic games in there as well, too close to home to rent porn from though.

Pal of mine lived next door over the other side of Rose Street - you probably know him, think that his Dad might still live there.

Had a weird memory from past times about videos, remember 'Kiddies Corner' I think it was called back in the day, The Vaseys had it where the Funeral place is now down Boundary.

Anyhow the bloke who owned/ran it called Rodney used to rent out videos as well in the sweet shop - managed to snare a pirate copy of ET back in 1982 when it was still at the cinemas from him but he told us to keep quiet about it as he had had the rozzers in asking questions.

I may have broken my silence on the issue but I doubt that they are still on his case about it and re-open the investigations.

I know the lad you mean, not well, but to nod to. Don’t think they have that house anymore?

Kiddies Corner was where the Bakers is, downstairs part, not where the Funeral Directors is?

Good lad he is, bumped into him fairly recently and had a good crack - because of his line of work I imagine many on here know him well.

Yeah that was in the back of my mind where 'Kiddies Corner was' - it was spot on in there, only went in a few times but the burgers were ace.

It was a Hoover/electrical shop before that.

Rodneys was the place to head to though for your goodies unless you wanted a comic or Panini, then it was the newsagents.

I occasionally watch it, there are times when he is reasonable. Remember an episode where a lad was complaining of domestic abuse from his girlfriend and the audience laughed at him. JK called them out on it immediately asking would they still be laughing if it was a woman on stage telling about how her boyfriend abused her. Moments like that are rare though, it mostly just seems to be about the show winding people up and getting them into arguments while he sits on his high horse.

There wasn't any Blockbuster stores in the UK in 88 ;)

Entered the UK in 89, barely had 30 stores by '91.

When you look at it though, Jeremy was a bit clued up, wound the guests up and 'hid' behind that huge bodyguard Steve.

Bit tame when you compare it with Jerry Springer as he used to entice the crowd into chanting 'FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT'.

Anybody watch the show 'Cheaters' not sure if it is still going but they would set up stings that would nearly always end up in a punch up.

I liked Steve. Always incredibly calm and professional, which can't be easy if you're dealing with people on that show every day....

His job was fairly easy though most of the time - it was like watching Hulk Hogan get inbetween Jeremy and an eight stone smack-rat whilst Jeremy still goads him because if you go too far then my mate Steve will knock you out pal.
