What's gan on? More money saving?
There is cost cutting cost cutting. At this rate we will have to ask the ball balls to play and get the stewards to manage the youth team.

Surely there is a huge plan we just don't know about.

This feels like the beginning of the Roddy Collins era.

A mass exodus to make room for all the new Irishmen.

Scottish in this instance.

Someone would prob take offence if he said ball boys anyway. Peppa Pig copped it the other week for saying fireman.

I can't believe the bookies have us as 8th favs - an improvement on last season! Hopefully they know something we don't!

I think Northamption could be dark horses - they have a better fan base than us now!

'Kinder nurtured a number of young players through the club’s scholarship programme with Mark Beck, Patrick Brough, Andy Cook, Kyle Dempsey, Mark Gillespie, Gary Madine and Brad Potts examples of the talent which went on to make successful inroads into the professional game.

His team reached the Youth Alliance Cup national final for the first time in its history in April 2013, where they lost out to Bristol Rovers, and they famously beat Manchester United in an exciting FA Youth Cup fourth round meeting in front of Sir Alex Ferguson in January 2008.' - From the official website.

I see another Edmundson has just gone from Oldham to Rangers for the best part of a million on a 4 year deal. Cant see it catching on though getting your best young talent signed up so you make a few quid.

I haven't a clue what went on, therefore am not going to make assumptions or aportion blame. I certainly wish DE all the best in his future career. However to say he brought on more decent players in recent years than anyone else has to be wrong. Surely that has to be the bloke who is in charge now?

Gary Madine, Tom Aldred, Brad Potts, Ryan Bowman, Andy Cook. All proved to be not just prospects, but capable of making a living as a league footballer, coming through our youth team under Eric Kinder.

I said recent years Bumble.
I can't be ar5ed researching how long ago they all were, as I'm getting ready to set off for Bradford.
But a quick Google check found -Madine 1st team debut 2007-08
Aldred 1st team debut 2009 -10
Cook in youth team 2009 -11.
Bowman in youth team 2009 -11.
Potts in youth team 2010 -12.

So most recent of the ones you mention to be in the youth set up was 7 seasons ago.
Hardly recent any of them.

I don't know what happened with Edmondson either, but in the last 7 years, nobody of any note has came through the youth system.
Then this year we had 4.
Then he got sacked.

I've always said that as an area we are capable of producing good young players. The problem in the past has always been the barrier between youth team and first team.

Abbot, Kavanagh and Curle were never interested in blooding youngsters. Maybe they werent good enough but the list ofnthose who've gone elsewhere and done well suggests some may well have been if the opportunity had been there.

Edmondson did well but remember that none of those players have made any kind of mark in first team football.

Pressley & Holdsworth seem keen to include them and tie them to contracts but i think that might be more to do with avoiding losing them for peanuts like Galloway.
