From memory of us playing against him at Yeovil, he’s a beast in the air. Should be good at this level.

Good signing.

Very good signing this. Can only think his recent injury record is what has put teams off him this summer but hopefully he can put that behind him with a decent pre season.

He’s another one who’s mentioned the manager as a big reason why he’s signed, Radio Cumbria have tweeted a snippet of his interview where he was impressed by SP’s professionalism and detailed planning. Really hope he can get a settled side playing a full 90 mins like that first half against Crawley where we blew them away, we might be pleasantly surprised.

If we want repeats of that Crawley first half then signing Nathan Thomas would be a step in the right direction.

The first new signing this season that I actually feel a bit excited about.

Will he be the new Kevin Gray or the new Mike Edwards? Lol

I’ll say Kevin Gray

New captain maybe?

Maybe like the Scunthorpe fans were saying 'he is too slow' was correct for League One, but like Gerrard if he manages to stay fit then he could be an asset in League Two.

Pressley seems to have a penchant for signing crocks though and still no recognised striker through the door yet.

'Are you a footballer and have you been injured at work through an accident - you may be due compensation through a one year deal at Carlisle United, contact Mr Holdsworth and ask for your free claim pack'.

Hardly a penchant though!

ACL’s are much easier to come back from now, Nicky Adams a case we all know...

Webster had recovered from his ACL injury last summer. Played 2 league cup games in August 2018 for Millwal, just couldn't get in there Championship side, so went to Scunthorpe January 2019. Took him 2 months to get properly match fit though, started for Scunthorpe Feb 19 and was nowhere near ready apparently. But did start the last 7 games of the season and by the end of the season he looked fine. A pre season and some regular games, and we've got a player that should really be one of the best CB's at this level.

Absolute horseshit!

16/17 - 55 Apps for Millwall
17/18 - 12 Apps for Millwall
18/19 - 15 Apps for Millwall/Scunny
(All Competitions)

That’s a total of 82 Apps in 3 years - 17/18 finished for him at the end of Sept when he did his ACL. When he returned Millwall had obviously signed more defenders, hence why he moved on to Scunny in Jan 19...

Speaks well, seems intelligent, strikes me as someone who could go into management.

He has played at a higher level so hopefully will improve as the season goes on and gets that defence playing as a unit.

Funny how some players epitomise a manager. Hope for me sums up Curle. Great attributes, quick, strong, finishes well (on occasion), highly paid but somehow you rarely look back on a game and think Hallam did really well today. Webster is the reflection of Pressley. He's quick (for defenders at our level), strong, good in the air but unlucky. Against Rochdale, he got across his man, read the ball, got his head to it, didn't just lump it but Knight P fell over and it's a goal. Against Salford got in front of the attacker, the striker just shoved him out the way, no foul, a goal.
He maybe needs to be a worse player to be better. Flattening the striker against Rochdale would have cost a yellow but break over. Against Salford putting the ball in the Spar shop would have done. He's got to change something though
