I would say he did.

Then again we all thought that Cosgrove was going to be shite.

Let’s see how Cosgrove gets on this season before casting judgement on him, got a feeling he might struggle and not totally convinced with him yet.

Hit a real purple patch in the middle of the season when he couldn’t stop scoring but either side of that he struggled, think he scored in 1 of the first 15 games and just 3 of the last 15. Saw him play a couple of times last season and he was pretty poor.

Talk of million pound moves to the championship by some on here we’re a tad premature I think.

Down to himself I guess - seems to have the right attitude and is still very young to be banging them in at the top level of Scottish football, think he was up there with the top scorers.

As long as he stays at Aberdeen and doesn't suffer any sophomore blues next season then he could be the real deal and aim higher.

It would just be our sodding luck if the strike partnership of Mark Cullen and Richie Bennett fired Port Vale to promotion.

I might have a rare bet on them - if they don't then I wont be as bothered.

Is that four players minimum that have played for Carlisle that they have on the books then with Joyce, Bennett and Cullen added.

I'd be worried if I was a Port Vale fan. Imagine the meltdown if we'd signed those 4 this summer (I know they already had Joyce).

And I'd be worried if I was a Cambridge fan - they wanted to keep Amoo and couldn't even manage that.

If you could keep all four fit then they aren't the worst players that you could sign, all are pretty decent on their day although Amoo can spend half a season running to the half way line and then not knowing what to do - maybe that is the way Kavanagh wanted him to play though.

Taking Ex Player Watch to the limit so not overly contemporary, but I caught up with the Sunderland documentary on Netflix last night and noticed John Cooke is their kitman.

This reminds me of David Pleat deliberately refusing to pronounce foreign players' names correctly even when his co-commentator was doing so.
