Why should we be asking for more than Exeter received for Ampadu? Is Branthwaite better? Did you see Ampadu play much?
He was in the Wales squad by the time he was 16 and was still at Exeter and he’d represented them at different age groups.

I was saying we should be looking at a similar figure not the millions that people are suggesting.

It would be nice for CUFC, but I wouldn't think he's that good enough to start a bidding war.

Think you're right Nobby to be fair. Fits the age profile we go for, but tends to be lower cost potential players such as Davies from Morecambe. Stevens from Forest Green (both in and around the first team), and Dalby (now at Watford) and McCarron of course (who seems to be doing well).nobbyblue wrote: Aye he comes across as a very level headed lad. Luckily they couldn't afford him!

17yo, made his debut last month and most of the Premier League watching him already. Sounds familiar?
They’ve been told they may have to go to £10m for him. Never mind Ampadu, this is the barometer now.

I genuinely don't know much about the Leeds youth set up Heilky. I live in Carlisle, so don't have my ear to the ground.heilkmoon wrote:

As if someone else on here could possibly know something about Leeds that you don't!

Not sure about the figures CUFC (it is double what they paid for Davis and Stevens), but you are right, they do seem to shop at that level for promising youngsters.CUFC52 wrote:

Is Ian Harte not Mccaron’s agent ?
They’ve been spending a bit on young players, signing Galloway and Mccaron for 300k (ish) is hardly a risk to them

Ha ha, no just following the takeover and manager threads, and the parallels with Branthwaite and McCarron/Galloway are clear. Usually log on a couple of times a day but bit more time on my hands for a day or two.bigboblee wrote: Carlislewhite: does your phone vibrate if Leeds are mentioned. Took 10 minutes to respond to a mention of Leeds. I will confess that I supported both Carlisle and Leeds as a kid, and gave up on Leeds following a sublime finish from Mally Poskett at Brunton Park in late1983.
