Could be a bit of a hatchet man.

I've got a weird good feeling about our mystery man. He can't be any worse than Elvis the King. And if he's unknown there is a decent chance he could be working for nothing so binning him will be cheap if he doesn't work out.

Let's get behind him, dead cat bounce starts Saturday, 3 0 away at the veggies.
Amazing!

Had a look at the six players.

Will Buckley - 300k to Watford.

Dale Stephens - only there on short term loan from Oldham.

David Worrall - never at Rochdale.

Scott Hogan - released at the end of his youth team spell in 2010, re-signed by Keith Hill for the first team squad in 2013. 750k to Brentford, then 15m to Villa.

Jamie Allen - 400k to Burton.

Andy Cannon - 150k to Portsmouth.

They all did not too bad really. I hope Beech is a great success and wish him all the luck in the world. Taking a chance on someone who has been coaching in the lower leagues for the last decade or more might not be the worst idea in the world.
Win the next 2 and we might be alright...

Simpson was a quality player, Day had an excellent career, both good pro's. Wadsworth was an England coach for Bobby Robson at Italia90 - thats the difference to a mediocre player and sacked asst manager at Rochdale!

Being good at football and being a success as a manager aren't the same thing. Booby Charlton and Bobby Moore were crap at being managers. Whether or not Simpson was a "quality player" is not really relevant to anything.

Did Paul Simpson gain back to back promotions for Carlisle, did Mervyn Day not lead us to promotion and auto windscreens victory, did Wadsworth not gain promotion and first Wembley appearance?
Its relevent.

I was wondering what the actual case was Tashy. Bit shithousery to claim the whole £25m+ of transfers when other clubs/coaches have been involved in the development too!

To be fair we don't know whether he claimed that for himself, or it's the club's statement attempting to buff up his credentials.

They seem to have a more accurate knowledge of his career as a coach than the club that's just hired him

Turning to coaching, he worked with the U12s at Bury before impressing as the club’s youth team manager. He subsequently returned to former club, Rochdale, to work with the youth team, and he also enjoyed a month as caretaker manager in their 2011-12 League One campaign. He was promoted to assistant manager in 2013, a role he held at Spotland for nearly six years.

So he did spend time at Bury with the youth team, which then explains the connections with Worrall, although maybe slightly over exaggerated

Is it bollocks. Curle kav Sheridan and Presley should have us comfortably in the championship if being a good player mattered. Being a good coach/manager is totally different.

Good luck to him, maybe underwhelming but that's not his fault. Its a great opportunity for him and hopefully he will take it.

Big call by DH, he needs this one to go right, and the transfer window to justify role.

I think it’s the statement that’s caused a reaction more so than the man himself. I mean do they even think about how fans will react before they release these things?

Going on about selling off young players and finding replacements under budget. Hardly inspiring stuff to hear when you’re 4th bottom of league 2. If that’s what they think they should keep it out of the announcement statement.

As for the list that Tashkent has summarised, it’s pretty embarrassing if the club can’t even get their facts right on something like this.

On that then David Worrall went to West Brom from Bury for 50k, ended up back at Bury a few years later and then went to Rotherham for 140k.

His managerial win rate is 0%

However that’s only from 6 games as Rochdale caretaker manager, but 6 games and zero wins.

So I wouldn’t be expecting him to transform us straight away.

Unreal appointment and hardly going to get fans back onside or inspire the players! The guy will need some luck to succeed very strange what's going on at CUFC at the moment, if I was told was true and we got relegated PD gets full control of the club could it be a blessing in disguise to get rid of the 3 amigo's and the trust?? Be interesting to see who made the decision to appoint PD or 3 idiots!

Good luck to the guy! I hope he does well. Previously I highlighted the issue where it was up to Pressley as to whether or not contracts were extended. I believe that arrangement infuriated Holdsworth. Now we have the situation where Beech will identify players to bring in. Once they are in the club, DH will be in charge of their contracts so he can maximise the player's value. A subtle change but it plays to DH's strengths as a wheeler dealer.
