McCarron had been up home at Christmas and said the coaching was a different world to Carlisle's set up. I don't think he was a big fan of Elvis by all accounts! :-D

You have to fully check out things like eyesight nowadays e.g. if they had checked out Loft's he might actually jump in the generally area of where the ball is coming to...

AFC Fylde striker Danny Rowe set to sign for Oldham.

He’s one I would have liked us to sign. We need goals to keep us up and he’d get them in my opinion.

We can probably add Oldham to the list of clubs who won’t be in any relegation trouble come April.

Was made an exceptionally poor contract offer back end of last season, then basically told he needed to go. Theirs a reason neither him or Jarrad have wanted to come back on loan.

Didn’t do much training under Pressley so can’t imagine he’d be critical of him.

Not a rumour, but I was thinking before about players Beech worked with at Rochdale and Steve Davies sprung to mind.

He’s currently at Hamilton but has been an unused sub recently.

I think someone like him is exactly what we need, experienced, decent at holding the ball, can finish. Would be ideal to play alongside Kayode or Hope. Beech would know him well as he was at Rochdale for 2 years while he was Hill’s assistant. Location wouldn’t likely be an issue either.

No idea whether or not he’d be available but fact he’s not coming off the bench recently suggests maybe...

Funnily enough I was thinking that Beech may turn to his former club/contacts or an experienced forward minded player.

People need to realise we can’t just send: Loft, Carroll, Olomola etc back.

Their is no termination clause from Carlisle end, unless the players can find another club for themselves (which would be advised as two are out of contract in the summer) they will be here until May

If we`re paying £2,000 per month toward each of there wages it might be worth forking out 12 grand to get rid of Loft and Carroll if it means getting a couple of decent loans in.

I would imagine that's why Olamola and Carroll aren't playing in the hope that their clubs will recall them in Carroll's case simply because they won't really want him sat on his arse for another 3 months even if somebody is contributing towards his wages.

In Olamolas case even tho it's very clear they don't want him back there I would think other clubs may have enquired about him ad if they were to think that one of them would be more likely to sign him permanently at the end of the season give he still has a year of his contract they may be looking to pull him back ad then send him straight back out again.

But i.m assuming that neither of them actually played for their host club at the start of the season before coming to BP because if they did I cant see them getting recalled as they wouldn be able to play for anyone else.

Jackson maybe not the player he was 5 years ago but would still be an improvement on anything we’ve got.

Played over 30 times in the Scottish premier last season.

Meanwhile we’re relying on signing 19y old kids on loan with zero experience and crossing our fingers and hoping they can step up to league football and keep us up.

I think Stevenage will stay up now. That big result on Saturday will do wonders for their confidence, they’ve made a couple of decent enough signings and Westley despite being a prick knows what it takes to succeed at this level. I also think Morecambe will win enough at home to stay up under Adams. It could be between us and Macclesfield, let’s just hope they don’t get their 6 points back.

I think Saturday is huge, loose that and the next 4 games are tough.

My worry is Beech is signing young lads - remember when Kav did the same... Hunt, Kayode, Watt etc might all be very good players but have they got the experience for a relegation fight.

I think if we get to bottom of the leauge we’ll remain their till May. Get some leaders in with experience, think we’ll all admit Griffith was one of the worst players to play for Carlisle - but he was an experienced head, a talker, the bit as fans we tend to miss out.

I look at the players Morecambe and Stevenage are signing - very short term but their players I’d want in a relegation fight, no doubt Watt is a better player than diaragoua but would rather have the larger till May.

Exactly this. It’s a huge [censored] risk pinning our survival hopes on boys who’ve never experienced league football. As you say it didn’t work in 13-14. It might work this time but it’s a big gamble. The following season we kind of learnt our lesson and brought in players like Griffith, Asamoah and Kennedy to help get us out of the shit. This season is starting to pan out the same way as that League 1 relegation season under Kav I fear. Hope to god we do enough, I’d snap your hand off right now for a 23rd placed finish on goal difference.

Ridiculous to suggest Griffith was one of our worst ever players - he was exactly what we needed at the time. He wouldn't get in most of our sides over the years and wasn't technically blessed but did the job he was brought in to do - problem is now we have no leaders so could do with somebody like him. It didn't help with Curle trying to outfox the opposition by not saying he was on international duty though.

His legs had completely gone by the time he was playing for us. He was practically down to sitting in the same 20 square yard area in front of the defence and then pointing and shouting when someone had to perform a manoeuvre on the pitch.

Like the players mentioned above that got us out of the clart, what was Kennedy on about 1.5k a week?

Well in that case I don't think that it would be unreasonable to sign three players on circa 1.5k a week on proper one and a half year deals with options for another year.

For the rest of this season and all of next this would cost us 351k for a bit of quality so not much to ask from the Branthwaite money and not forgetting their money is covered for next season as well so it helps with next seasons player budget already.

Can’t sign players on longer than 12 months unless theirs a resale value, unless we might get burn like we did with Kennedy.

Forget the fact he was one of the players so instrumental in keeping us up and making the playoffs, cause he got injured no deals longer than 12 Months.

Only an option for a second full season but we desperately need those players now and then next season I would expect the said players to be already bedded in ready for the promotion push and to build around them.

Nobody wants to see them for six months and then goodbye as we start to build for next season again.

You could say 'what if they are crap lets just give him a one year deal' is the right approach but it has failed us and made us look amateurish, not even Morecambe do this.

It would be an insult to season ticket holders if they plan to budget for next season just like they have done this one.

Talking about the club getting its fingers burned like the Kennedy situation...let's hope the lad Anderton from Blackpool isn't another Mark Cullen, also from Blackpool. Anderton is coming back from injury so hasn't played a lot lately but we've signed him. Cullen similar and failed to impress mostly, but was on loan, so went back eventually.
Beech seems to rate Anderton highly so let's hope he does ok.

Cullen failed to impress mostly! Understatement of the year. Did he start a game or score? He just came back when he was off again with a groin strain.
Pressley had good ideas but he was the most unlucky manager ever, nothing went his way. Yates didn't come back, Cullen never recovered form injury, his overlapping full-backs can't attack or defend, his on-loan strikers can't score, his higher league centre backs can't defend. Going be a dung beetle in his next life
