Academy is Good - Branthwaite, mcCarron, Galloway was created by Onlyfoolsandhorses
The Academy must be doing something good with the 3 players who have moved on to higher standards
Good luck to all 3 and a dream move for Jarrod.
Look out for taylor charters to be the next good thing.
Let’s hope we stay in league two and a few more will come through, we cant afford to lose this .

Seems a bit strange we would let Edmondson go when he's had a large hand in developing all the young players we've sold this season.

Beech has brought through some good youth at Rochdale. A15yr old on first team bench

The team should have been built around those players, in the way that Crewe has done with its talent.

Then cash in two or three years down the line, when they've developed into experienced league players and command a greater fee.

Football isn't opinions.

It's results.

While the coaches deserve credit for development, guidance and persuading young players to stay with the club, ultimately it's down to the talent of the individuals concerned.

It's one area where geography helps us a bit, as long as the set up and coaching is decent enough not to be off-putting, a lot of local kids and their families would rather come to us than have to relocate or travel long distances.

If it was Edmondson who spotted these lads he certainly deserves a bit of credit.

There's also Birch, Charters, Dixon and Kerr who look decent from what I've seen.

I remember taking photos for the club at the Centre of Excellence as it was then and taking pics of Charlie Birch in the U12s.

Dave Wilkes was in charge of the Centre's. Eric Kinder was head of youth and used to be watching the games on a Sunday morning. I have a feeling Josh Galloway was also there but would have find the file, if I kept it, to confirm that. I think a few of the lads were in the CUFC system for quite a while and pre date Darren Edmondson.

I guess we all have our likes and dislikes. He's always been spot on with me, and I feel he's done a decent job at CUFC. That wasn't the point of my post though, it was more to say some of the lads had been in the Academy/Centre of Ex for a while.

To be fair I thought Eric kinder brought through, Madine , Potts, symington, brough , and Dempsey but I was also informed it was not him who did this,
symington said he’s good so can only go off what he’s said,

I think it's more look finding someone with the talent to play in the Premier League.

We get one every 10 years on average.

Ha Ha and guess who was at least partially responsible for him returning to the club after he left a couple of years earlier ?
