Jerry Yates came from Rotherham and he wasn’t bad. Let’s hope this guy is as good.

I’d still like us to bring in a more experienced front man as well. Think there’ll be times over the next few months where we’ll need someone whose played a bit.

Rapid, direct forward by all accounts.

Averaged a goal / assist every other game for Gateshead although that’s 2 levels below.

Could work well for us but surely you’d need to play him with a target man up top? Would get lost and isolated in a front 3 with Thomas and McKirdy...

Can't imagine there's much of an appetite to keep Loft if we can send him back is there?
I've certainly seen little to suggest he's worth holding on to.

If this lad is quick and can finish then we need to pair him with Olomola or sign another forward who can flick on or hold & release.
When was the last time we had a proper flyer up front?

Knowing us we'll put him up top on his own and expect miracles, or play him at right back.

It's better to be silent and assumed a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

Positive noises about him from the Rotherham fan at work who's seem him play for their reserves and in the Checkatrade. Quite a big lad apparently, was a bit surprised Rotherham loaned him out again.

Totally agree with this, Fela would look so much better with a quick partner who could make intelligent runs.

Hope Loft is let go, Fela largely played well, then lost a bit of form for a small amount of games and then has struggled to get minutes. Feel like we're much more likely to keep possession further up the pitch with Olomola rather than Loft.

Loft cannot be let go. He'd have to be recalled and I think that would have happened by now if it was going to happen at all.

I saw him play for Gateshead earlier in the season. Certainly looked raw, ran around a fair bit but didn't look much like scoring.

Young lad so no doubt he'll have improved since September having played most of their games.

About the level of player I'd expect us to be signing at the moment. There's no chance of us actually splashing any cash so getting proven players in just isn't going to happen.

From JC twitter "Kayode, on Rotherham's website, says Millers team-mate and former Carlisle loanee Jerry Yates encouraged him to join the Blues. He just told me straight up that it’s a great club, so I’m up for the challenge."

Even if he's not quite the finished article, movement and express pace will always be a major ball-ache for most defenders at L2 level. It certainly got Nadesan through his time here.

Think this will be a good signing. Yates and Nadesan were both very raw at the start but obviously talented. I think young players coming from league 1 and championship aren’t that bad because they don’t have the same bug headedness and expectations that come with it. He also played proper men’s football which is a bonus

If he's so bothered he should [censored] Swindon off and get his arse up there

But I think we all know now why one of those players from last season ended up at BP

That shit Holdsworth clearly wasn't willing to pay the contributions their clubs wanted towards their wages.

Yates obviously liked the place...goes to prove it was just about our board and DoF not putting up the cash to bring him in...since we've still got a serious goal drought (Apart from in the FA cup) it probably wasn't a great decision to pass on a good player who wanted to be here if they'd put the cash up.

With Fela, i see a player that is more than capable of holding the ball up and bringing other in to play...just playing him on his own with only wide players as support isn't a great formula for goals...we don't have a finishing central mid either to take the pressure off him there either.
We need a lad who can play off Fela if we're going to keep him..I can't understand having him on the bench with the likes of Loft playing more...its clear Loft isn't up to it.

Beech said he mentioned his thigh at Mansfield but said he was ok to carry on....it didnt settle down over the weekend so they had it scanned and he went back to Rotherham for treatment....he wouldn't say if he'd be ok for Tuesday " as I dont want to give too much away" so might not be that bad

Being an optimist, I'd like to believe we're keeping our oar in with Kayode so we can get hold of him on a season long loan next term.

It shows both Rotherham and the player he's wanted here...

I don't think we will see as many loans next season,
With the clubs being under financial pressure, player squads will be smaller, therefore less players being loaned out.
