Just been to see this film tonight, quite enjoyed it but can't really see what the hype is about, I thought it followed a similar theme to Saving Private Ryan, even had the fight where he kills a german soldier with his bare hands. The scene in Ryan where the german gets into a fight with the US soldier still makes me wince when he gets the better of him and slides the knife in with the American pleading for his life.

Guess it’s all down to your own opinion. I thought it was fantastic. Couldn’t stop thinking about it all the way home afterwards. Horses for courses and all that.

I think the “one single shot” directing was done really well and isn’t something I’ve seen before. Quite a simple film.

Germans couldn’t shoot for *hit though.

I loved it but couldn’t help wondering why they didn’t just fly to the front line to call off the push

Wouldn’t have a chance of winning an Oscar if they did that ;)

At least we’re not Stockport

I thought it was a bit like the A-Team.

He must have been shot at from short range a million times and all he ever got was a scratch.
