As many of you lads already know, I'm quite a big deal on the avant garde art scene. Just looking for a bit of feedback on my latest installation piece.

Fans of my 2012 installation series will be no doubt pleased to learn I've gone back to the medium of turbots for my latest round of sculpture.

Just looking for a bit of feedback*. As you can see from the prototype designs below, the work is a critique of post modern globalisation on Sub Saharan Africa (sorry to insult the intelligence of the cultured among you to whom this will be obvious, but there are some right thickos on here who wont get it). I am just unsure if the spirit of disenfranchisement is best conveyed through an isosceles triangle, or a triangle more equilateral in its tendencies.

Thoughts?

I think avant-garde is hyphenated. I've been called an artist a few times myself

An emotionally turbot-charged indictment of these troubled times.

I’d go with the equilateral triangle that has failed to extend its equality to the tail end of society in Guinea-Bissau.

Think it has to be isosceles, Ibosaur. I think the equilateral shows uniformity and doing as you’re told/expected. Albeit equilateral would be a tad more ironic. Isosceles would be a lot harder for those lads flogging stuff by the beach to copy accurately.

I suppose if you’re still struggling you could look to the old quote from Hundertwasser:

‘Equilateral for pagans, isosceles for achievers. Never scalene’.

all views my own

Andy flounder an old friend of the club and Scunthorpe legend thinks it’s amazing. I think it falls a little flat. For me there’s no plaice for this kind of ‘art’. I’d rather you dab some paint on it.

Quite polite for him I thought.

There is nothing avant-garde about a triangle with equal sides and angles - Turbot or no Turbot.

Surely due to the shape of the turbot, it would be far better presented in a cubist piece?

What I meant was it's a total copy of a Highways England sign from the early 50s warning of Flounders at Work.

On the original signs the red triangles are thicker and fully encompass said flounders.
Enthusiasts and collectors of rare Highways signs are gonna notice the fakery right away I'm afraid.
