The Red Devils will put on a fine display for the first five minutes before spiralling to earth with smoke coming out of their canisters.

Mass meltdown across the fan base. All positivity from a couple of weeks ago gone, new signings now shit, question marks over Beech’s managerial ability, fears for the club’s future etc.

To be honest I'm only 50 miles from Crawley and keep changing my mind about whether its worth travelling, although hopefully if they are going to call it off it will be done early enough

Nadesan to score against us. 2 1 to them.

On another topic, if Liverpool win the championship they become the most successful English club ever overtaking Manchester United. Boring but true

The most trophies an English club has ever won in one full season is 4 (Man Utd - 2008/09). If Liverpool win The Treble this season, they will break that record as well as overtake Man Utd as England’s most successful club

Breakdown of English teams that have won the most trophies in one full season - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/48969062

English clubs with the most honours won: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_football...petitive_honours_won

As it stands, Liverpool have won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup this season, are odds-on favourites to win the Premier League title and are still in both the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup. Winning all three of their remaining competitions would see them become the first English club to win 5 trophies in a single campaign while simultaneously being enough to bridge and overtake the current two-trophy gap between the club and Man Utd at the top of the all-time trophy charts.

Hmm, the "all-time trophy chart" on that link includes things like the Community Shield which most people regard as a glorified friendly.

I would argue that the most significant measures of success are European Cup/Champions League, which Liverpool lead 6-3, or the league title which Manchester United lead 20-18. If and when Liverpool overtake Man Utd on the latter stat it will be considered much more significant in terms of overall relative success than the above.

Liverpool are already England's most successful club with 6 European Cups. No one else comes close.

Made me laugh that :)

There will be blips but the thing is before we were a bad team in a bad league and now we are an average team in a bad league so should pick up more points than before.

It is plain to see the differences and also some players are playing better like Webster but some are the same like Loft, which is a shame because he isn't terrible like Sorensen but a young lad learning his trade.

This one will be a 2-0 game either way I think but unfortunately probably to them.

The Premier League is becoming boring with the same teams at the top of the league every season.
A bit like in Scotland with Rangers and Celtic.

The Scottish Premier League has been a one horse race for about 10 years.

The Premier League - well Liverpool haven't won it for 30 years.
There are 6 teams who consider themselves top 4 with Leicester upsetting the apple cart this season.

Before Man City money laundered the title in 2012 they hadn't won it since 1968.

Same with Chelsea in 2005 - they hadn't won it since 1965 (their only time before).

Due to TV payments with every team guaranteed at least £100m (just tv) the playing field has levelled up.

Alan Shearer was once moaning that Newcastle should be much better than Brighton because they got 50,000 rather than 30,000 crowds.

But the reality is 20k extra per game is maybe an extra £10m a year which will now buy you a promising championship player.

If we can get anything from this game it'll be very encouraging.

Crawley haven't been beaten at home since November (won last 3) and very much rely on their home form with only 12 of their 40 points coming away.

I was quite interested in the stats. I don't mind watching Match of the Day, some of the football Liverpool and Man C play is a joy to watch.

What irritates me is the plastic glory hunting fans. I'm from Carlisle but I support Liverpool or Man U. Except that a couple of average seasons and they have switched to a different club just so they win every week- to the detriment of their home town club that struggles to contain losses at £250k a year. Yuk

What annoys me is the fact that when they’re challenged about it they say well everybody was supporting man united so I decided to support Liverpool as if they’re being admirable because they’re not supporting the team that where winning everything at the time. If you wanted to support the underdogs you say everyone is supporting man united but instead I’m going to support Carlisle because they’re the ones that need it. Think about how many people were celebrating England’s wins in the World Cup on botchergate. There was probably more there than at BP on Tuesday. Where are they on a Saturday? Fresh air not armchair is what I say.

Cheer loudly when they see the scores on Sunday in the Mirror or Sunday Post the day after maybe

I supported Liverpool as a kid and England well before even looking at the Carlisle result and this is when Carlisle were in Division 2 (Championship).

Our class were football mad and played every day in all weathers but I can honestly say - its not as if e hated CUFC - we just weren't really aware or care about them.

It wasn't until I got to cover for a programme seller that I was hooked.

Aberdeen is the bitter one cos Citeh have been sussed - attack them and they are shit. They will get nowhere near Champions League final - maybe the League Cup that Liverpool were basically forced to play their kids.

Laughable a Citeh fan calling Liverpool bin dippers - have you ever been to the new stadium and seen the area, never mind Moss Side!

The last game I was at was the Sheffield United game so yeah I have been recently. Moss side is a bit of a dump and so’s the current area but it’s massively improved since we moved in. Champions league will be tricky and I can’t see us winning it without a better defence so I’ll agree on that. Calling us Citeh is ironic. It started when the rags thought saying city with a Mancunian accent was a bad thing. And I’m the bitter one when your always making snide little remarks about our money. Just think how many Liverpool and man united fans there are in Carlisle and think how many city fans there are. City gets passed down generations not just chosen.

Easyjet have cancelled nearly all their flights from Gatwick Airport this afternoon. As Gatwick is next door to Crawley question is whether Health and Safety will decide to call off our match ahead of the expected bad weather. It's not really a referee's decision like a pitch inspection. Difficult one to call but respect to anyone who braves the elements and travels to the game.

Two seasons running I travelled from Carlisle to London by train for the Crawley match and thought on both occasions the game will be postponed due to the weather. But Crawley kept stating during the morning the games were still on.
And then they cancelled each just before kick-off time. I’m not chancing it again this year.
