But the height of the BCF came way after that take 3 events 1] Paul Dodds book 1995 2] MK putting PD on the staff 1998 3] JC visiting the Peds 2003 so I think you can safely say the height of their popularity actually came at a time of out highest gates not the lowest as HB claims

From what I know the BCF was just full of a few people who never grew up by that point

Also known as young lads enjoying themselves and harming only those of a like mind.

No different from say Hunt Saboteurs or a modern example Extinction Rebellion and as CW says its fallacy that on anything but a few occasions people who didn't want to be involved got drawn into it.

The only reason it was vilified is that it suited Thatcher and her law and order agenda to clamp down on it

I take it your kidding here, aren't you???
So...am I getting this right? you are championing violence at football matches and then trying to compare it with 'Hunt Saboteurs' and 'Extinction Rebellion' protesters.
Football violence is about kicking the shit out of another fan because he supports a different club, end of, mindless [censored], that is the most idiotic excuse for a punch up I have ever heard, and no way can it be compared to anything else.
You need to grow up my friend.

I’m particularly looking forward to BCF v Carlisle Pride in the first round, should be interesting if nothing else.

Like Nobby, I followed the team away during most of the 80's and 90's and managed to steer clear of the odd ruckus.
Basically they were a small group of moronic kids who liked to goad opposition fans and exchanged in a lot of posturing against their like minded counterparts.
Utterly pathetic, and can't be compared to hunt saboteurs, extinction rebellion groups at all.

I predict a 1-0 win for the gay lads with Barry getting sent off for a particularly heavy challenge on Happyblue.

Melbourne with the late winner.

Aye as you say it was easy to avoid. I remember coming out of Roker Park in the first cup game when it kicked off but I managed to slip past the kerfuffle. Also at Barnsley, Blackburn and Oldham IIRC when it kicked off at the end but you can usually keep out of the way unless you're very unlucky.

As I take it you are not BCF then your decision to reveal this bombshell on a message board is a brave one.

However the effect has been lessened as Happy dropped a 'Schofield' on us ages ago :)

Talking about him I noticed he got subbed off after half an hour in the Hertfordshire cup

Like Pride? We just want to be accepted in every day life, but, ooh look at us.
The only people bothered about being gay these days, are other gays, to claim as one one of their own.

Pride marches are always late summer in the USA because pride comes before a fall.

Bloody hell.

I'd just got my team (The Gay Gordons) assembled as well.

Bazza has signed for some east Lancs LBGTQ+ team now I've heard. They offered him a better deal.

I think he's frightened to tell you.

I think we would have won it as my team were all free kick specialists.
