Yes-it is a bit quieter. Some of the posts were direct personal attacks but Pig does also make some sensible and intelligent points on the football.Amazing what a few draws can do to the psyche. No point in personal attacks either-total waste of energy when we all support the club.

For me, I have oddly and unnoticeably transitioned from a period of wanting to stay away from games because it was awful to now missing them-woke up this morning thinking no game to go to.A while since I felt like that so things must be looking up.Rather like an alcoholic, maybe you have to hit rock bottom before things turn upwards.Lets hope the club continues to improve on all platforms.

If thou dost love me, show me thy thought.

Anyway, I knew by giving Lapping a little, very justified, criticism it would provoke him into calling off his little "boycott" and he'd start attending matches again.

It's all about getting another bum or two on seats in the East Stand and putting a few more pounds into the club, every little helps.

Technically speaking, it's called flaming. When people are passionate about the club in any context, they're more likely to feel the urge to support it. Sometimes, you need to poke the coals to get the fire burning again. Especially when the protagonist is an Arsenal fan and not a Carlisle United supporter at heart.

I feel thoroughly vindicated, for the moment at least.

There are three critical differences there.

One - you're a genuine Carlisle fan.

Two - you're a man of principle.

Three - you're an honest bloke and have no hidden agenda.

I won't set foot in BP until there's changes at the top.

Good on you for sticking to those principles. While they have a legal right to eject anyone they like, if they say that criticism is allowed then they should mean it and not kick people out for criticizing. If I had been there I would have asked why you were to be ejected (had you threatened them, or being excessively abusive after multiple warnings). If none of that applied, I may have outright refused to carry out the instruction as I feel it could be an unreasonable request.

What are your conditions for coming back by the way, what would make you return? This is something me and Clibbens disagree on, I'm of the opinion that there are many fans who are staying away but would return immediately if Jenkins Nixon and Patt left, is that the case with you?

FYI I went back because I can see like many other fans that EWM have totally neutered the three and JN admitted as much-that and a very positive January window which backed this up.The three have absolutely no influence anymore-basically wallflowers. The future is getting brighter and with a bit more investment in the team, we might see a promotion team next season.

Last home match, my son Denis brought a couple of his mates. It was fun and they enjoyed it.Given this, they will hopefully want to come back.Thats the point of course-make it a good day out and you get more punters.

I think you will find Pig that EWM have rebalanced things-just what we wanted to do.Strip the balance sheet of debt, professionalise the back office and run things on a broadly break even basis. The next step is to invest in the stadium issues which drain the club of at least £250k pa

My first game was at home to Leeds, 3rd Dec 1983. Beat them
1-0.
So been going 34 years.
I remember seeing you at many games in the 90s Tim, and spoke to you on several occasions at away grounds, and outside the main stand at BP.
I once went 9 seasons in a row without missing a home game, and once actually turned down a job offer as there were occasions I would have to work the odd Saturday and wasnt prepared to miss my football.
I'm not quite ready for pipe and slippers yet,and still go to plenty away games.
I'm just not prepared to give these owners any more of my cash to stand in the paddock and watch them sneering at us and laughing.
I admire anyone who's still going week in week out,

They can do all the rebalancing they like but until they get it into their thick heads that they will need to stick 500k a year in to make it work then we.re going nowhere for [censored] sake I bet it would take about 10 minutes on the back of a fag packet for the money man to work out how making a company that losses 500k a year save them 500k that they would actually pay in tax simply by establishing a connection between them.

And i.m really not sure how you work out that BP costs 250k a year to maintain most of the recent work was supposedly done free and for gratis the answer is to stop relying on Pattys muppets, get a couple of multiskilled tradesmen in on 500 a week and arm them with a B and Q trade card and i bet 90% of the jobs would get done without any further expenditure.

The monkey in the room that was talked about at the recent forum is I understand that once EWM or I suppose Day himself for that matter become the owners they have to provide certain financial information to the FL [ some of which then becomes public knowledge ] and from what i.m told as due to the legal status of EWM being a private family trust they currently have to make very little information public and feel that owning an FL would put that at risk and that is what is causing the unsurmountable issues or whatever it was that Nixon called them.

From what i.m told they are currently investigating a number of ways they may get round this one of which I believe involves the creation of a sporting foundation [ bet ironic that considering it was a vehicle I was advocating about 5 years ago ] and the recent resignation from the Trust involved an action that would need to be taken to put one of these possible options into place.

Morning NS-hairy ride this morning in 50mph winds

The dilaps figure is my estimate but it won’t be far out-you would normally set aside 3pc of value pa for capex and BP is very old .As for SP contributions, nothing at all in the accounts as a disclosure so it would only be labour I reckon-but still not disclosed.

I don’t think EWM providing financial info is an issue-it’s all over Companies House.PD appears to be Dubai resident but EWM is UK based.

As for the £500k a year,I don’t disagree but imagine the recent ‘football fortune’ being available for spending and rainy days instead of debt reduction.

As I understand it, Andrew, when he has no work for some of his guys he sends them down to BP where they start to work thru a list this been building up he reckons it's worth 25 to 50k a year to the club or at least he did when I challenged him about the claim years back.

I see what you're saying about Capex but there's also the theory that if you needed to spend 250k a year but in effect did nothing you'd be halfway towards paying for its replacement in 10 years time.

That's how it worked with tenanted pubs the Pubcos spend virtually nothing on them for 10 years put the money aside and you've paid for a capex scheme that lets you double the rent something that spending 25k a year on bits and pieces doesn't do

Are you telling me the accounts for the family trust are on CH ? because from what i.m told they don't have to publish them and that's how they make the whole operation look more profitable looking than it really is Your man at nob end works a similar trick with a trust that's based in the IOM.

You would have to look at more than the 500k then as it was based on not everyone else doing it therefore giving you an advantage.

Not that it is guaranteed to work but with a decent manager you should be there or thereabouts.

Curle didn't get us up but the season was usually still alive till a few games left meaning we were at least in contention.

This season we are all relieved not to be going down, they may claim it is balancing the books but I call it ripping off the fans by purposely putting out an inferior product but keeping the price the same - in any form of business this never works, when you se on the side of food packaging 'new improved' it normally means that they have found a cheaper way of producing it.

That's the whole point you don't pay the standard players anymore you just have a few more of them meaning you can take chances on players who might go on to earn you a million and the rest you use to attract marquee players who wouldn't normally look twice at your club.

Personally I wouldn't even deal with players agents i.d appoint a tame one as the house agent and then do an Oyston and tell the player "you can meet me without your agent or you can stay where you are its up to you son." And then insist that any player under 21 uses either a relative or the PFA service.

Example look at some of the shite Curly Keith brought to the club in the windows because Jenkin,s sons had hidden the cheque book and then think if he.d brought another four Nicky Adams in

I haven't set foot in BP since the 17/18 season either. I can't even remember which game it was TBH.

The final straw for me was the policy to get players in on one year contracts and happy to tread water in the lower half of L2 going nowhere.

I won't be back until some ambition is shown to progress the club.

In order to be "discredited" as a fan (whatever that's supposed to mean) you have to be a genuine supporter in the first place. We both know that's never been true.

Why do you need "an excuse" to travel round Europe if this is what you truly desire? Seems a bit bizarre you'd use the Arsenal thing as an excuse.

Also, why make excuses for being an Arsenal fan? If you want to be viewed as a man of honesty and integrity just own it. Don't make yourself look dodgy by making up some gubbins about your daughter.
