McKirdy had a strange personality and was probably difficult to handle, however,if you try to change him you ruin the footballer. He was a game changer and he could have brought the club some money. There was a whole list of players like Gazza,Best and Bowles who were difficult but they could play good football.

The only thing I'd add......McKirdy probably was difficult to manage but he wasn't even fit to lace those three player's boots. If you're awkward git but brilliant, fair do's. Harry McKirdy is not as good as he thinks he is......

They don't like it up 'em!

Which championship club has snapped McCirdy up? Can’t be very often such a prestigious talent hits the open market.

There's only one way of life and that's your own!!!

Obviously he’ll want to get another decent contract after being on good money at Sheffield Utd, but he has to take other things into consideration. Let’s not forget he signed on loan for Gillingham at the start of the season and ended up wanting out after a month as he was too far away from the north east.

Perhaps Mr Thomas and some of the other players that do this can use the lockdown period brushing up on thier geography.... I'm no genius by any stretch but I do know that you can't get much further away from the north east of this country than Kent... A simple check of Google would confirm this.

He cancelled a season long loan with Notts Co as well, 6 months in, if you look on his wikipedia

He didn’t cancel it, we approached Nathan about coming to Carlisle, he chose a to join a top 6 team (at the time) rather than the team 24th in L2.

I suspect the reason not to keep him is more to do with money than his ability or personality.

Beech was quite open about not wanting to keep Harry at Carlisle as he had made it clear through his actions during the season that he didn't like it up here.

Absolutely no point having a player who doesn't want to be here.

He'll get another league 2 team but until he sorts his attitude out that's as far as he will go.

Once teams cottoned onto McKirdy he wasn't actually that good.
