He was injured all of last season and next season isn’t going to be fit till January.

Don’t get me wrong, he has been fantastic for the club but surely we should be using his wages to pay someone who is going to play.

Glad I don't work for you! I'm sure he knows he won't be getting a new contract after this. So hopefully he plays out of his skin to prove he's worth another year.

Well i.ve always said there has to be scope for an insurance company to operate a scheme here that would cover the wages of a long-term injured player to the end of his contract trouble is for us Jenkins would no doubt be too tight to buy into it

Well, no club would take him as his injured, also he's not going to agree to have his contract terminated, he's got a family to look after.

The admirable principle of crocked players, with wife and kids to support, being secure in the knowledge they have a contract, doesn’t sit quite right in the modern context of agents and inflated wages.
I can only hope that If and when Kennedy returns to full fitness, he will show more loyalty to the club than Mr Adams.

Anyone heard anything on when Jason Kennedy is due back? Seen he was fully involved in the shooting drills they uploaded onto social media yesterday. Looks like they're maybe trying to keep his return low key.

Will likely be a slow bu steady, phased return?

Probably realises after the lay off he has had that he will be nowhere near fit enough to compete at the level he is used too and possibly never will be.hes been a fantastic player for us and I wish him well for the future and hopefully has a few more seasons in him

Bit harsh UD. I reckon if someone can cover some wage % and give him games for a couple months and be with us for the run in it could be worth doing.

I'd agree that's an unnecessarily snidey post about Kennedy. The lad recognises he's not likely to get much action for us right now and after being out injured for as long as he has, he needs games to get his match fitness up. That, and he needs to think about where he's going to be next season. Whatever happens, I think most CUFC fans would wish him all the best.

Even if he does mean that I wouldn’t go as far as to say he’s stole his wage. He hardly wanted to be out for 18 months! Not as if he refused to play but stayed etc.

Maybe he’s thought If he can get a move and release the wage it’ll help us in the final push

If only Kennedy and Adams were fit a couple of seasons back, a lot of the more mediocre players brought in were as replacements for the pair of them but their high wages meant what we brought in was not going to be as good, just unlucky.

Agree though that if he can find a club then all the best but if it is a loan deal out and he can get fit then what an asset he would be coming back would be ace, reckon he will currently be not in the reckoning as we also have to remember that these loan players might have stipulations that they must be getting game time.

After the injury he's had he might feel that he would struggle to get back in the team and may not be the same player he was before hand. He needs games at the end of the day and it's a question whether he will get them here.

I wouldn’t be surprised if clubs would look at him and only offer 1yr deals on fairly low basic wages given unity history. Might be a chance to keep him here (fitness and performance level permitting) at a reduced rate.

Whatever happens - great to see him back. If we’d had him fully fit vs Exeter I reckon we’d have been in the final.

Wish him all the best but I wouldn't have minded keeping him till the end of the season, would have been a good sub to have at least.

Maybe he's looked at the signings coming in, but has he really missed much game time since getting back to full fitness? You wouldn't have wanted to risk him on that heavy pitch at Vale Park for example. I thought we were just starting to ease him back in.

I was there being from Cleator Moor, the pitch was very heavy and he was not given much time on the ball but he did ok in patches. Johnny on the spot for his goal. Didn't shirk out of any challenges which was good to see.

Pressley said on Radio Cumbria Sport tonight they're still hoping to get him out to a Conference club to get games..Phillips tried to push him on whether after a period he'd be back for the run in, stating how he's a fans favourite . Don't think he committed himself

Cash was probably the issue as he only had six months left on his contract so we could have released him and he signs a six month deal with them.

Being one of if not the highest earner at the club they probably baulked at the option.
