Interesting to read this thread, not many Bolton fans rate him according to this, must be a hard lot to please considering that they are second - we only got Proctor because Madine was keeping him out of the side.

Again, he will be on a decent wedge and if they want shot of him would be destined for another League One club, if he gets a promotion on his belt then wouldn't be surprised if say Portsmouth snapped him up as he is out of contract in the summer I believe.

0n top of the decent wedge Munchy you would also have to budget in for a keeper with a muzzle and a strong leash for when he was not at the club.
Madine up the Botchergate Saturday night, ten pints in and some local pot bellied hero presents himself and blurts out "Nadine you're feckin clart" two minutes later Pyongyang seems like a tropical paradise, I think you get the gist.

Interesting stat on Bolton/Madine I saw on Twitter. Seems they play better with him?

Record when playing - P34 W23 D6 L5 F61 A28 - Deffo makes a difference?!

Interesting stat that, funnily enough don't think he played yesterday either and they lost.

Reading that board he is one of the worst strikers that they have ever had, the only thing I agree with them about is that he doesn't score enough goals for them but you wouldn't have thought that it would bother them that much when they are sat second and clear by four points!

He's never scored amazing amounts of goals anywhere he's been, I think his general stats are about 1 in every 5 games, his strengths are that he can lead the line and bring, he a handful for defenders to deal with and bring other into play, probably in the same way Jabo does.

I always thought Craig Curran got the best out of Gary Madine, Done his running for him but CC never got the goals his hard work provably deserved. A couple on here say Curran is our worst ever player.

But still, why would someone who is basically first team at a club that's just been promoted to the championship swap that for league 1/2 ?

True that Munchy, everything but eternal life as David Rockefeller found out after his seventh heart transplant, when he died at a 101. Must have been hard for him not having it his own way for the first and only time in his life when death came to call, I wonder how he found so many compatible donors.

Same sort of player on the pitch though and puts himself about a bit.

You are always more likely however to get stick in your hometown if you are a footballer who has made it I guess, especially Gateshead.

Isn't it odd how we all see football differently. I've seen Bolton play twice this season and both times Madine was their stand out player. I was impressed with his patience, for both matches he was feeding on very few scraps but he perserveered without any pet lip, scoring late on in one match and scoring in the other.

He's doing ok in the Championship, I'm pleaseed for him, another one that got his start with us.

I am surprised that Madine gets so much stick for being a rubbish player when he clearly isn't.

Sunderland will have to pay him a fortune if he is already on a high wage.

Also if he signs for Coleman then there is a good chance that he could end up playing in The Premier League.

Nearest thing i can think of to a proper centreforward currently playing in the league today.

Why the hell clubs don't develop kids to play like he does as there will always be clubs willing to pay stupid money for lads who may not have all the skills but use their attributes to good effect and manage to score a decent amount of goals each season as Madine has always done.

Not sure what figures you're looking at but I make it 5 times he's done that up to the end of the 2015/16 season in fact up to then hed got 63 in 237 appearances and is nailed on to beat the 8 already this season not brilliant but i say his best years are ahead of him now he seems to have settled down.

And dont forget the time he spent at CUFC as a youngster trying to establish himself in the team and the wasted time at Sheff Wed after he came out of nick and was ignored for the rest of the season

And no DB i.m not confusing him with Glen Murray but hell i bet the pair of them would be shit hot as a partnership.

If you look at his Performance Data on TransferMarkt, he has a fair few assists on top of his goals, complete totals of 342 appearances, 80 goals and 30 assists. A fair few of the early appearances, made his debut late in the 07/08 season as a 17yo, will be from the bench too (Just had a quick look, probably 60 games from the bench in the first years of his career, become a starting choice from 10/11).

Was it Stockport or Exeter cannot remember but Madine didn't score but unselfishly laid it off for Offiong to net.

Offiong's goal at Exeter was a rebound after Madine hit the post, so perhaps not an "unselfish lay-off" on that occasion. Maybe you were thinking of a different goal?

Ah so it was merely an assist, I do remember Madine being involved in the move.

10full seasons as a pro, he’s scored more than 8 league goals once
