it's an argument you'll never win. the flatists won't accept any image of the earth as a globe because the pics have been taken with devices which use lenses which naturally put a curve on everything. even if they went into space and looked down on the earth, the glass through which they looked would somehow cause the same effect, falsely showing the earth as a globe. the only way they would accept what they see is if they were to stand outside a space station / viewing platform with no 'curved' visor or anything else to alter the image they were looking at but we all know that's not possible so they'll hang onto that point of argument just on principle.

If the earth was really round all the water at the bottom would fall off. And Australians

Agreed, The woman was asked what would convince her the Earth was a globe and she basically said she'd have to go up into space and see for herself so the interviewer asked why that philosophy didnt apply to it being a disc.

as ive said before on a previous thread there is so much evidence to suggest we live on a flat plane or disk.

the position of the sun relating to seasons, the distance of the sun from the earth (more evident on a cloudy day), the horizon remains at eye level no matter how high you go (this would not be possible on a globe), submarines and gyroscopes would not work on a globe due to 8 inches of curvature per mile.

water will always find its level, which also wouldnt be possible on a globe. when your spending time on the beach look out to the horizon at sea and see if you can see a curve. If we lived on a globe spinning at 1000 mph the water on the planet would accumulate at the centre.

I may have missed this is in the other thread but if we can get to the stage where we assume the earth is a flat disc, what is the incentive for scientists to be telling us otherwise?

My Google Scholar subscription has expired else I'd work it out myself.

no, but if there was a globe and there was an axial tilt there would be an allowance i guess.

If you are in any doubt the world is round just fly Quantos from Sydney to Santiago
The distance if the earth is flat as over 3 times further than if the earth is round.
If the world is flat the plane will have to land (twice) to refuel. if it's round it will get there direct.

there's countless pics, videos, films, documentaries etc etc of a global earth. how come there's no evidence of the 360 degree ice wall that's protecting us from falling off the edge?

also, is the moon a disc or sphere? and the rest of the planets? what about them? are they actually there or another NASA conspiracy?

you can thank the ATS (Antarctica Treatment System) for not collecting evidence of the 360 degree ice wall. i dont think the edge is there either, as it suspected that other land or continents is beyond the ice wall.

as for the moon? you only see one side of the moon and no one has ever landed there........you can thank Stanley Kubric, if he was still alive, who directed and produced the infamous (fake) moon landing in 1969.

It apparently takes 27 days for the moon to orbit the Earth, and slightly less for the moon to rotate on its axis. You would of thought you would see some sort of difference rather than the moon appearing static.

At least we’re not Stockport

if there are land masses beyond the wall, how far do they stretch? so you suspect the known world is surrounded by a 360 degree ice wall which itself is surrounded by land mass of unknown area? so the planet could be immense and what you perceive as a flat disc surrounded by an ice wall could in theory be a tiny area of an immense globe which is so big your flat earth seems likely just because you cant see the curvature of the globe?

Santiago in Chile you mean?

Paddockranger, you have already disproven your theory with regards to planes flying from point A to point B in the last discussion, by conveniently glossing over, or choosing to ignore the facts given to you.

It seems you only pick and choose to reply to the questions on here that suit your particular agenda.

If the world is flat going in a straight line in any direction would eventually get you to the ice wall

If the world is round going in a straight line in any direction would eventually get you back where you started - which is what happens (ask michael palin)

If the world is flat, people wouldn't see the moon 'upside-down' in australia as compared to the uk. They'd see a slightly different side of it but the same way up.

How is it hard to understand the maths, he uses in multiple parts of the video it's completely wrong , the guy can even perform basic calculations.

S=500mph
So if you wanted to covert that till miles per minute that would be 500/60 , that is 8.33 (recurring ) , once you put the into the equation the would equal (8.33^2 * 8 )/12 would equal 46.25, where as he thinks it's around 2777.

Also he states that the curvature of the earth isn't taken into account by engineers , as a bloody engineer I can tell you that these are major factor of any large project . The whole video is a load of false facts , calculations , designed to fool idiots.
