Remember seeing DL on a joint headlining tour with these guys in about 1980. The opening band were called the Point Fives, they lead off with a heavy metal version of the theme tune from Crossroads

I'll see them on Wednesday at the MEN Arena in Manchester. Cheap Trick support - what's not to like?

Good Canadian music? That'll be Rush and Neil Young - but not Bryan Adams, perhaps...

Is The War on Drugs a Canadian chap?

Only got in the last few of cheap tricks songs but they were pretty good.

Def Leppard where [censored] superb they may be cracking on a bit but they can still bang a great tune out one of them gigs you never want to end.

Photograph was song of the night IMHO.

Aye - it's a six thirty kick-off so I'll make sure I don't miss any of it. Made a habit of watching all the support acts since I saw some bunch of unknowns (with only one album release on import) supporting Kiss - they weren't bad at all. Whatever happened to Bon Jovi?

Was that at Wembley? We travelled down from uni for that. Kiss played a great show but they were already on alternative drummers and guitarists. The new guys were better musicians but still, a wee bit sad. The music was always simple with Kiss but they were showmen

Manchester Apollo - Kiss were out of make-up on their Animalize tour. Not a patch on Lick It Up - and I actually thought Bon Jovi blew them off the stage. Could tell they were going to be big...

Deservedly so - they were excellent on Wednesday at Manchester. All the top tracks and the whole of Hysteria album. Topped off by walking back to hotel past lots of unhappy Hoffenheim fans - they'd cheered up today when I saw them at the Christmas Market.

Party Fears Two is one of the best tracks ever.

Temptation by Heaven 17 is arguably better though, everyone sees to like it from young to old.

I see that Heaven 17 are doing an extensive tour this year supporting Squeeze - don't think that they are playing up our bit though.

Have been listening again to Tears for Fears superb 1st 2 records recently.
Had them both on one C90 tape back in the day. What more could you ask for?
Anyway, my pick of the bunch. Quite a complicated, intricate song, but comes together in a denouement Jane Austen would be proud of.
Great 80s socialist lyrics and superb sax.
An instrument in the wrong hands which can be a heinous crime but in a song like this, well, it's just almost indescribable beauty.
The Fears.
