His voice gets better with age, while he still looks like he did in 1997!

Totally disagree - he is a [censored] and has lived on three of four decent songs throughout his career.

My mate wanks over him and went to see him in Leicester the other day.

His missus should have stayed with the much more talented Jason Pierce.

Known him for over twenty years, one of my best pals and the only major falling out we have ever had was about three years ago and it was about Richard Ashcroft and how shit I think he is and how great he thinks he is.

We got over this however and are still great friends today - I even didn't snigger at him going to see RA the other day on Facebook when he posted it (even though I wanted to).

I turned the other cheek.

Someone gave me some fairly rare RA stuff recently, I only accepted it because my pal will love it otherwise I would have accepted it and scopped it in the bin as that is how highly I rate him.

(there was some decent Britpop stuff in the haul as well like The Seahorses cd singles)

Been a fan of Folk Rock for decades, Waterboys, Levellers, Decemberists, Saw Doctors, Seth Lakeman, Neil Young et, etc, etc, but I cant believe I've just discovered the Oysterband (and they've been kicking around 30 odd years!!!!), some truly wonderful songs, they are bringing back my love of music again.

Made me chuckle the other day and pissed me off at the same time - thumbing through my old record collection I used to buy on the week of release of my favourite artists new material but my thirst for music meant that I would also delve into the bargain vinyl areas of Pink Panther/Our Price/Woolies and buy random stuff that I had read about (mixed results).

I could tell what I had paid full price for because the store used to 'spoil' the cover by sticking hole punch marks in the corner just to punish you for being too tight to buy the product on release.

A bit like a car dealership scratching a six month old car whilst slashing the price just to teach you a lesson.

Wow, haven't heard Mansun for YEARS! Saw them a couple of times and they were really an excellent live band.
Just put this on and reminds me of just what a great band they were. Saw them a few times live and were a bit hit and miss but this is a great track.

It's Dave the bassist, he's on holiday this week. But I'll tell him when he gets back. They still do pretty well out of it, had some 10 year (?) anniversary gigs last year. Good lad, plenty of rock 'n' roll anecdotes.

I would recommend the album 'The Facts Of Life' as it is sung by a posh sounding girl describing villainous situations at times - intriguing listening.
