Bowyer/Hurst/Nolan/Clarke the 4 faves atm, but doubt there's much info gone into that.

Just had a little go on Muzza at 12s. Seems a bit big given it's mid-season and he's a simple internal appointment.

Fully expect this market to flip-flop 18 times before Russell Slade is announced in circa 8 weeks today.

According to Jenkins' statement, 'Over the last few days, the board and John had discussed football squad matters, and these were being resolved'. Hopefully that means the BOD have known for some time and have been able to start working on this. Fully expect to see Lee Clarke at BP tomorrow.

Lee Clarke is in need of a job....I can see him joining until the end of the season with a view to longer if successful.
He's not as well off as you'd think (quite how is beyond me mind you)
It would suit our Board of Divvies and him perfectly and we already know he'd like the job....everything fits apart from the fact he's crap.

Just seen Jabo outside the Beehive, says he's back as player manager and bringing Amoo and Lambe back to bolster the squad - means having to offload Gerrard and Sowerby but hopes to get us up by the end of March.

Very exciting times ahead!

JS lasted longer than I expected, did well towards the end too. However he wants to be somewhere else, so good luck to him.

We will have to wait and see as to whether he takes his coaches with him. I've been impressed with TW, huge knowledge, passionate and personable.

Overall I'd go for the same person I would have chosen last time, Jim Bentley. He keeps Morecambe ticking over on a shoestring and always seems to unearth a diamond or too. Equally important he can handle big characters (Ellison and Roch), and keeps the whole team working for each other.

My guess on who it will be; David Holdsworth.

Paul Hurst is the one for me. Worked miracles on about 10 bob at a club with similar financial and geographic problems.

Agree with others that Bowyer would be a really solid option too.

Would actually prefer either to Sheridan or Curle.

Not bothered about big names to be honest. At our level big names often translate into the same old names who have been round and round the block, had a bit of success and a few failures, a bit like Sheridan really.

Or big name players who havent managed and are a gamble.

I'd like some one who knows this League, is ambitous and wants the chance to get promoted.

Bentley isn't as loved at Morecambe as you'd think, there's a 15 page thread on "Jim Bentley OUT!" here that's been running for over 2 years :-)

www.giraffe.arvixe.com/~iomkeith/shrimps...2732ddfd28d916365de9

From the match thread against us:
www.giraffe.arvixe.com/~iomkeith/shrimps...hilit=single#p287051

"Jim "fix-focuses" on a single player in the first half of any game. Sitting in C, you get used to hearing "oates", "oates", "oates" from him, a couple of seasons ago it was "moly" "moly" "moly", last season it was "flemmo" "flemmo" "flemmo". It that micro-management must send them insane. And he completely ignores everyone else on the pitch. Second half, (usually after we've conceded), he just stands or sits there arms crossed, clearly sulking, barely ever directing anything on the pitch. When we need someone to motivate the players, he does nothing, even worse when we don't have a decent captain on the pitch (something we've missed for several years now!)."

If it is about getting the manager in with the least bad points, how about picking someone who's overbearingly optimistic, it'd make a change.

Not been so disappointed in a manager leaving for a long time, given the money available and the sheer ineptitude of our board holding this club back what he achieved in moulding a squad capable of getting into play off places only a handful of points behind automatic places is really quite impressive he was rapidly turning into one of my favourite blues managers and just goes to show how average our previous three managers were.
