No. Sheridan would have said. His post-match interviews were like Rab Nesbitt at the best of times, you think he would have kept something like quiet?
Curle spunked a wad of cash on players that weren't good enough. Clibbins was brought in to develop the strategy and stem the losses. Holdsworth was brought in to ensure that players we signed weren't on silly money and we were getting value for dollar paid.

Clibbins was brought in to be a human shield for the analogue three. They were getting pelters over the billionaire / blue yonder and were stunningly inarticulate when challenged about it, so brought in Nige to take the flak and reply in the queens english.

Anyone with money on Skelton will have lost out.

He won't be the next manager, but may be assistant depending on who the manager is.

I am told Workington still hold his registration even though he has 'resigned'.

Holdsworth was brought in to ensure that players we signed weren't on silly money and we were getting value for dollar paid. To me, it seems to be working. People shouting I wouldn't trust the Board bah humbug, meaningless waffle, utter shite. From the stories coming out the club the wage bill has been slashed, we have won 6 in a row and we have a youth team player coming into the first team. What is there not to trust? Get Wright signed up and move on. And a win on Saturday would be good, 1 win in 10 league games for them? Top scorer just gone to the bright lights of Scunthorpe, Jerry Yates could be back, a new striker signed. It's almost [censored] exciting. COYB

Marko, I hope you are right and I am wrong but, my information comes to me from what I would believe to be a very credible source, maybe we will never know for sure? What I will say with certainty is that, if my info is correct and proven to be reasonably so, this is one season ticket holder who will not be going back until the BOD have left. The football has been good, the results have been quite remarkable, It's fairly clear we are almost safe this season, why would the manager leave now? Rumour(confirmed to me actually) of manager falling out with players, errattic interviews on the radio, loan players disappearing back to their clubs, short term contract players not being re-signed in a timely fashion, all this while we're sitting pretty in the play'off zone. A happy manager, or one that should be happy, leaves the club. None of this makes much sense at all! Once again Marko, I hope my info is duff and that your scenario plays out instead. We have a good chance to make good progress if the board want it, my worry is that they don't!!! There are interesting times ahead!

Unless Wright and co stays then we are probably shafted of getting the loan players back.

They might not fancy playing for the new manager.

Sheridan and the board have left us in a right mess, the money (if they get any) from Sheridan has probably been spent already on the bonuses as we are winning and that only covers part of it so we will have to sell Devitt I reckon, always falls apart for us at this time of year hence the negativity but would love to be proved wrong.

None of that is relevant

What's relevant is that Chesterfield are going to pay him 4 times what we were and cut his journey time by 80% and if they make the same offer to Wright or indeed Murray and for that matter Gerrard too we.ll be looking to replace them as well.

I don't think anything can happen at BP until Sheridan is confirmed and names his backroom staff otherwise you risk offering people jobs which they accept only to buggar off to Derbyshire the next day And don't forget if you bring in a new manager now and JS doesn't make offers you're stuck with an asst. manager and coach who might not get on with the new guy.

If you watch the interview with TW it's pretty clear he was covering all possible scenarios and if you read what the Wukkie chairman said he certainly doesn't think Skelton jacking was anything to do with JS leaving.

We just need Chesterfield to get on and do their bit then we can get on and fill the positions we have because the overriding certainty is if TW has to choose between being manager here or coach at Chesterfield on a 4 year contract and 4 times the money I can't see it going anything but one way and the last thing we want to be doing is offering him the job only to see him disappearing down the M6 the very next day.

Don't think that would make much difference in Nadesans case [ change from Curle to Sheridan didn't seem to bother him ] and I can't see it bothering Sowerby either. Yates could be a different matter if he was down to JS/TW being mates with Warne tho

Having seen Town play some utter clart under PH, I'd be somewhat underwhelmed if we appointed him. I don't think our dressing room would be overly impressed either based on how well he seemed to get on with the Town players.

Then that is baffling as our devious board would give him a years contract for example and would be able to sack him without compo if he gets found guilty.

A no risk situation really.

Other than the risk that the case goes against him and he gets some kind of ban, then we are left trying to find another manager, same reason we managed to get Gerrard initially but only on a short term.

They took on Sheridan surely knowing that it would end soon and badly (some on here predicted it right from the start) and took that risk so I wouldn't put anything past that lot - they would just put a clause in his contract to cover this I suspect anyhow.

George Graham is the only person I can think of who has ever received an FA punishment for taking a bung. He got a year ban for £40k worth but returned to management afterwards.

Generally the FA are pretty lax on this sort of thing.

I'm hoping, that when we hired TW in the first place, we knew potential risks of this and have seemed advice on worst case scenarios - or is that too forward thinking for our lot?

Surely the Board got the message last time, Petula Clark before Lee Clark.
Not sure what the deal with Hurst and Ipswich was. A guy I worked with over many years was Ipswich daft and served on the Board. He told me when McCarthy was manager Evans offered McC money all the time but McCarthy didn't want it, he liked to cultivate the image of finding diamonds in the rough. Hurst seemed to try to continue that by signing young L2 players who sadly haven't proved to be good enough

Ipswich let Waghorn, Garner and McGoldrick go in the Summer who are all seasoned championship players and as you say their replacements were from L1 & 2. There was no lack of effort from these new guys but sadly they're not up to Championship level. to be fair they did have some bad luck along the way you know when the ball just aint gonna go in for you then you caught out at the other end! The first win just didn't arrive so then it becomes a confidence thing. Lambert injected a fresh bit of impetus but they've still only won once under him and were never really in it at Accrington in the cup on Saturday. Hurst could indeed do a job for us just like he did at Shrewsbury.

Gavin Skelton was 1/5 On Saturday night. 25/1 now.
Paul Murrray 1/3 On Sunday.
Owen Coyle was 5/2 on Tuesday. He's 20/1 today.
