That was a horrible read.

We stick all the old oil we use into the big jugs that you get them in before disposing them - I would get shouted at if I did not follow this method by the missus.

A lad I used to work with told me that he 'triple' filters his old oil to get the crispy bits out of the old oil and he reckons he had great success but it could be a bit dodgy and for a quid for a spanking new bottle it didn't seem like it was worth the effort following his ideals.

Cooking oil doesn’t solidify. It’s animal fat and grease that causes these.
