I don’t like seeing or hearing anyone crack in any environment but this felt like a ‘last stand’ interview to me.He will feel like a fox being chased by the hounds tonight.

I have some sympathy for his plight-he has nothing to work with and a board of directors who have disappeared up their own arses-‘they know best’ clearly isn’t going to wash anymore.I wouldn’t want to be the CEO with those clowns in the background.We are a professional football club run by amateurs stuck in the dark ages and Pressley is in the middle-I doubt he will have fully understood how such lethargy and mediocrity can suck the energy out of him and his team.

Favourable comparisons with Bury’s plight are just a convenient smokescreen.

You could give Pressley £20 million, it wouldn't make him any less of a jibbering half-wit.

In less than a year he's turned us from play-off certainties into relegation strugglers. The football we play is diabolical to watch, our defence a shambles and his signings (for the most part) have been abysmal.

He had an ample budget to build his side in the summer and has failure is blindingly obvious.

The sooner he leaves the club, the better for everyone - he's totally and utterly out of his depth.

It’s the most frustrating thing for me. We got a taste of how shit he is last season and we didn’t take the opportunity to get rid at no cost.

Normally, Musher, I'm a firm believer you need to give a manager 12 months at least before you judge them.

The caveat to that is, unless there's an obvious and potentially catastrophic downward curve in performances and results.

Our capitulation last season under Pressley was almost unforgivable - but you like to be fair and give him a chance to improve things over the summer.

Now we're at a stage where the decline in quality is past the point of no return for him. He's had ample time on the training pitch to make things work and his decisions are desperate and ridiculous. Things clearly aren't improving - they are getting worse.

Giving the players the week off recently takes the biscuit - two defeats and five goals conceded later we're seeing what a brilliant decision that was.

There is too much read into a manager having a bit of a meltdown after a poor result.
Take just about any manager going, Wenger, Ferguson, Guardiola, Benitez, Mourinho etc etc and you hear them talk utter shite when they are under pressure.
The results and performances have been poor, but Pressley is not an idiot or someone who has no idea about the game, he is a decent bloke.
He should be judge by what has happened on the pitch, which isn’t very good, but never see why there is a need to make it personal.
The funny thing about the Paddock was that they/we justifiably turned after a particular dire moment of play , with universal booing , the like of which I haven’t heard for a while and then we turned into Brazil 1970 for 5 minutes and scored two goals straight afterwards. Pressley bit back then, but you could understand it.

He has been out of his depth since day one. Yet Jenkins re-employed him after his disaster last season.
He is acrap manager and as for Jenkins.

Budget?

Pressley had ample budget enough, in the summer, to sign six defenders. Then ample budget to bring in a seventh defender once the season started.

It's fair to say we're never going to spend our way out of the division, but that's not the issue. The issue is blowing our budget on clart like Webster, Mellish, Elliott and Iredale - who aren't able to defend, and signing Hayden - why?

The issue is signing a powderpuff non-entity in midfield, like Bridge - and making the idiotic decision to rely on loan players as our strikers.

The issue is deciding not to sell Hope and re-investing the transfer fee in the team.

No, the budget is not the problem - the problem is what we've let Pressley spend it on.

By ‘ no budget’ I mean the current season cupboard is bare-the Club said so a couple of weeks ago.

We can debate forever about how the season budget was originally spent but signing players on one year deals is pathetic.That isn’t Pressley-that’s the accountants setting the policy with Holdsworth.

We won’t get relegated so the Club should be using this period to reset things and put its house in order.It won’t happen of course as there is no incentive and PD has AN and JN by the balls.

Does Pressley think we are idiots? He’s been banging on about the team we are close to becoming for nearly 10 months. Does he seriously believe it himself? The guy can’t even string 2 wins together. He’s beyond useless.

Crewe fans on Warwick road were laughing at how shit we were today. Do the Pressley lovers on here like being a laughing stock? Do they think it’s acceptable taking a team from top 3 challengers to mid table, then down to bottom 5 nine months on?

People say we won’t go down, and we really shouldn’t, but over 9 months pressley has made us worse and worse as the months go by. He makes players worse. He can still make the team worse than it is now if we allow him to continue. It’s unlikely that we’ll go down, but if we keep pressley it could become more likely as he further puts his stamp on the team.

Don’t risk it I say, make the change now, while the season can still be salvaged.

My god I’ve just listened to his post match interview with BBCRC. And people thought Curle was living on another planet. This man is different levels of delusional.

The idiot thinks we’re making positive strides, going in the right direction and thinks there were good things to take from today. Also harped on something about Crewe not getting through us at all because the goals were all from our mistakes and we looked fatigued (we seem to “look fatigued” quite a lot). For me the blame lies 100% with the board. The sooner we have them out the better but even our supporters are apathetic towards ridding them.

It was obvious last season that Pressley wasn't up to it, but no our &£+#wits upstairs know better. Quote when Sheridan left at the fans forum " we see the manager's role as one brick in the wall and we have replaced that brick with Stephen", absolute waffle.

As for Pressley, I've some sympathy with him for having only been able to sign players on one year deals, that narrows his prospective player pool significantly. What I can't defend though is the inability to get the most out of what he has. Playing form the back where we have weak ball players invites pressure and also starves our creative players upfield of the ball. All we have to do is play it into the channels. Then there's not playing his best players, what's he got against Mckirdy? He continues with Webster who is shocking, if a new manager comes in a solid central defender and binning that tip tap crap at the back will no doubt be his first objectives.

Pressley said at the end of last season "we'll be the fittest team in the league" we aren't. He says we play a "high press", we certainly do not! He says we're on the verge of being a good side - absolute rubbish. We cannot defend whatsoever.

Anyway, his numbers up, just a matter of time now. And take those muppets upstairs, and their total lack of vision, with you.

For the 3rd and fourth goal crewe played a simple ball between the back line and the keeper. How can we not know how to defend that? How can our defence be out paced by a 36 (?) year old. Lack of preparation, lack of attention to detail, poor management

The team is getting worse and worse under his management. How bad do we have to be for them to finally realise that he’s shit and give him the boot.

Based on the performance on Tuesday I would be tempted to start with a back 4 of Brandthwaite , Mellish, Hayden and Iredale. McKirdy if fit (RM), Sagaf, Jones, Thomas with Olaf (AM) and Loft up front. He has nothing to lose, we are bookies favourites to get gubbed, and we are shipping goals. Surely nothing could be more ineffective than Webster against Crewe

He was a defender so he should be able to coach his defenders surely? maybe he should stop talking so much on the radio etc and coach our players..

It was obvious from Pressley’s results last season that he wasn’t any good. Like they did with Kavanagh, the board rewarded failure by sticking with their man. Surprise, surprise, they get more failure...

Looking back at this thread when the club gave him the contract extension. I said I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re looking for a new manager after 7 games.

Fair play to pressley for exceeding my expectations. But enough is enough now, 14 games in, nearly a third through the season. Shite. Pressley out

Can they not have wrote in the contract that if we are not on x amount of points after a certain number a matches his contract will be terminated? After all it is a target and results business.
