He looks a bit like Jack Grealish. Let’s hope he plays like him!

Very highly rated and could be a hell of a signing. Can play anywhere up front.

Nine appearances for Villa - four as sub in championship and five starts in Cups. You would be surprised if BP would be his destination on loan but you never know.

Good Scottish name of course. Hopefully will sign up, be good if he could bring a couple of mates with him. Centre forward, central mid for example

If he’s in and around the Villa first team, you’d have to wonder on both his availability and possibly the wages he’s on?

The original journalist is usually quite reliable, maybe we were interested but it’s off now. If he’s on the villa bench, going to a skint league 2 club seems unlikely imo. And fact the article stated he’d be at the port vale suggests it was either wide of the mark or something has changed .

I think this one is likely, Steven lives near the Villa and I think his boy plays for their youth team.

If Exeter are after him also then location could favour us here for a change if we are in for him.

Flights to Ireland or London from Carlisle soon might entice more players to the area too.

I think Slater will play where Sowerby played, Devitt as the furthest forward midfielder and this lad as a sort of inside wide forward. Pressley was talking about wanting his wide front players to come inside more and not be hugging the touch line too much.

If he’s similar style to Grealish as I’ve read from a few Villa fans then he should be able to do that sort of role.

How many loan players does that make it?

I am guessing we signed Grant on a permanent was to get around the too many loan deals situation I would imagine.

5 - Slater, Simpson, Cullen, O’Hare and Thomas (Also Fryer but he don’t really count).

So Yates is either unlikely or permanent?

Pressley said in his post match press tha he’s prepared to wait till last thing Thursday night for Yates. Either they’ve been told it’s a definite no go or they are looking at a permanent.

6 including that goalie we have from boro. So if guess if we were to get Yates it'd mean leaving one out, probably Simpson.

I don't mind the quality coming in but this is far too many really.

Yates signing on a permanent would be fantastic business.

As I said on another thread - get in there for Nadesan as well :)

If the board play their cards right then it could be a budget promotion extravaganza.

The journo came up from Birmingham for the match because two Aston Villa lads were both playing (there should have been three but Cambridge's other Aston Villa loanee was on International duty).

He was impressed with them both and enjoyed his day at BP despite, what he thought, was a long drive.

Yes, agree with that. Been a pleasure to see him play.
Can't say I was bowled over intially but his work rate, attitude and desire has been absolutely superb.
You worry about the younger lads dropping down a division or 2 but he's been great.

A lovely little player. Reminds me a little bit of the time we had Leon Osman on loan from Everton. I hope Callum goes on to have a career at least as successful as Leon's was.

Once he settled in he's been a joy to watch, his commitment to a team he has no real loyalty too has been commendable. I'm sure he will go on to be a top player at a higher level. Shame it won't be with us. Good luck to the lad
