Man Utd could be looking for a new manager and Scholes has a 100% record.

He's not the kind of bloke who'd hang about if he didn't enjoy it. It's not as if he'd need the money.

Mate of mine went to their game at Lincoln on Tuesday.

Said he was silent on the touchline, wasn't giving any instructions to players and didn't give any reaction when they had a man sent off.

Just seemed to not really be that bothered.

Scholes said in a statement that he had decided to resign with "great regret".
"It unfortunately became clear that I would not be able to operate as I intended and was led to believe prior to taking on the role," he continued.

Their owner is a bit of a head case.

Paul Scholes and his family were Oldham through and through. His son was a ballboy at Oldham rather than go and watch his dad play at Old Trafford.

I feel rather sorry for Scholes, I don't think he's a quitter, he wouldn't have had the career he had if he were, and he probabrly wouldn't have been persuaded to take the job if it hadn't been the team he supports.

Oldham are going through a torrid time behind the scenes at the moment, it's a bit of a poison challice to take on for any manager.

I think this is bang on. Calling Scholes a quitter is not on. You don’t get to become one of the best players of your generation (in my opinion the best) and one of the best midfielders world football has seen, by being a quitter.

He and his family are Oldham through and through. He will be absolutely gutted about the way this has played out, he certainly won’t have taken the decision to resign lightly.

Other than being a part owner of Salford was he involved in anything to do with football between those dates ?

Are owners subject to the betting rules too ? Brighton's owner made his fortune through betting and poker.

Oldham are only 3 points behind us with a game in hand. They have 10 points from the last 4 matches - they seem to be doing pretty well without him.

Blackpool Bury Bolton Port Vale etc etc etc. Grassroots football dying on its arse. Pitches being lost every week You really would think the [censored] FA had nothing better to do than hunt down a bloke had a few bets on games he couldn't possibly influence.
