How come they're comfortable saying Isaac's name but not the other trialist?

Possibly because he’s basically on trial whilst under contract at another Club?

Whereas other lads are free agents so don’t need named (Even though they have been!)...

Hopefully Buckley-Ricketts will wow the fans with a few step-overs, resulting in a three year contract.

Holdsworth wouldn't even offer Messi a 3-yr contract even if he offered to play for £500 p.w.

Company policy remember to only offer 1-yr deals.

Interesting that people thought McKirdy stood out. I thought he looked lazy and very unfit.

Surprised nobody mentioned Mellish, he stood out for me.

Elliot has been fantastic second half.

4-3 defeat in the end..

3-1 up and then brought a lot of the young lads on, Hibs ended the game with a much stronger side than us so not surprised.

Enjoyable game played at a high tempo, after the first 15 minutes we matched Hibs and would have won had we not thrown all the boys on.
lots of pace compared to last year and i thought Elliot was excellent second half.

I wouldn't be bothered about any of the trialists, bar Reeves perhaps.

Encouraging signs from all of the new signings bar two.

Knight-Percival was all over the place, and Iredale, while good going forward, looks like an absolute bomb scare defensively.

McKirdy has pace and ability on the ball, but it's going to be all about getting end product out of him.

Scougall played well second half.

Of our youngsters, I thought Josh Dixon had a good game in a deep lying central midfield role.

Hibs brought a few pissed up clowns with them, celebrating the win like it was the Champions League final.

Cheers pal - the lad wanted to go so thought sod it and went along.

I know that it was only a friendly but am pissed off tonight as we flogged the game when a draw would have been decent and deserved.

McKirdy looks lively enough, my lads standout player.

Really surprising to see how peoples views differ.....our frailty looking forward again is going to be playing the dam ball out from the back in the leisurely manner that they do. League 2 players are not good enough to do it and never will be. Team wise probably not as bad as I expected. Im with chedderbob thought mckirdy was poor, lazy and lacking end product. Iredale I thought too was poor. Webster looked decent, mellish was far better when he went to Lb. We need a big strong CM in desperately or else we're going to struggle immensely. Game wise, probably not alot in the teams. Speaking to his fans before game they said team was far from full strength. Tempo at times was decent but was also snail pace and non existant too.

Iredale wa a liability first half McKirdy and Bridge look promising Elliot was outstanding. Young lads gave the ball away too much in the last 10 min that and goalkeeper failing to take command cost us, but considering the opposition we did very well without a full squad as well, plenty of promise there.

I think Elliott is going to be our best signing.

The other new signings weren’t anything special.

None of the trialists impressed.

Louis Gray worries me. A few decent saves but struggled with the basic decision making which cost us the second goal. Reminds me of Greg Fleming.

When Hope goes we’re going to have nothing up front. Big job on Holdsworth to sign the required quality because I don’t think it’s in any of the trialists.

I don't think a jones/etuhu partnership is good either parcirv, problem with pairing them 2 is that imo they check play too much and slow the game down too much and more times then not end up putting pressure back on ourselves when they should be hurrying the job on and getting forward.

Exactly this. People around me in the paddock were cumming over some of his shot stopping and 1 v 1 saves, but absolutely no command of his box, scared to come for anything in the air. His part for their their second goal terrifies me thinking that he might one day have to play a league game.

Yes definitely more quality 1st half but number 2, Elliot was class 2nd half. Webster, Mellish, Iredale all looked good at the back. McKirdy looked handy .
Thought Buckley -Ricketts showed up well and nearly got the full game ,.well a good hour anyway. Hate not knowing who they are at this stage with loads of new faces and trialists in.
I left with 10 mins to go and thought we'd won ha.

Thought Jones had an excellent first half, Elliot as said above was fabulous at right back, Melish also was decent when switched to left back, and Webster looks very promising. Bridge was a bit in and out, but thought there were decent signs in him. Scougal always looked a threat, Mc (whathisname) was actually Ok but did drift a bit, Iredale was only OK. Hope was Hope, a wonder goal when he came on, but then faded. Dixon was great first half but had a nightmare first few minutes second half, before being subbed.
Overall a decent performance and quite a few promising signs.
Roll on the season!!

Well, have been feeling pretty flat and unexcited about the season ahead losing Devitt and the rest of the side and the whole bonkers 1 year deal thing.
But, I have to say that was an excellent game and we played some really decent stuff.
I really didn't expect that.
Passed it about well, good tempo, pressing, attacking football.
Considering they barely know one another it was good stuff.
I know it's only 1 game and it's a friendly and we shouldn't get carried away, but come on, Jon Mellish.
Very exciting to see a young lad play as well as he did tonight, despite gifting a goal.
He didn't half remind me of the way a young Roy Keane played - the way he runs and the way carries the ball forward. Looked so comfortable both at centre back and full back.
So good coming forward with the ball and so comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Really, really enjoyed watching him play tonight.
I also thought Webster stood out and it looks a good pair with Mellish.
Branthwaite was decent as well I thought. For someone so tall to be so comfortable at full back was impressive.
I hope Jack Bridge is played furtherr forward because he looks decent in that final 3rd.
McKirdy looked like a 70s throwback, socks rolled down and puffing and panting but he looks like he'll be a handful. Good touch, balance and looks an intelligent player, as did Bridge.
Christie, when he came on, was excellent and looked as good going forward as he did defending.
I think as well a word for Josh Dixon. First time I've seen him play and I thought he did well.
Didn't see enough from either of the big centre forwards really and I think the second half CH pairing struggled a bit.
Early days but lots of good signs and nice to feel positive again about the club.
Really good night.
COYB.

Overall, a decent display I thought. Mellish looked sound in defence and had pace and skill to support the attack, Webster seems a solid player, I thought Iredale had some decent link up play with McKirdy who looked quite skilful and pacy to me, Bridge looks a decent signing and Christie Ellliot played well when he came on. Early days and only a friendly but reasonably pleased.
