No Kayode after two goals.

Injured or badly?

Surely must be one of those two. Leaving him out would be suicide otherwise.

Swindon have a Benda in the nets so should have two limp wrists so possibly not a good shot-stopper!

Not much chance of us out scoring them with that line up, set up to contain them. Shame really as we have looked good going forward recently.

Can’t knock the team for effort and they look more solid-Swindon have a bit of an edge in key positions though.

McKirdy-not sure what to say without being difficult

That's a foul on Anderton as the corner came over for their goal.

Also it was a two-footed tackle (studs showing) on McKirdy which first injured him - we didn't even get a free-kick.

Then you have a fairly blatant hand ball which should have seen us have a penalty.

They say decisions go for you when you're top of the league - and today they're correct.

Swindon are a brutal team in fairness, I didn't expect them to be so physical. They're your typical horrible southern team, full of those dirty, niggly little kicks on our players. Saying that though, we've defended quite well - and despite them kicking McKirdy out of the game we haven't let them bully us.

At times we've played some decent stuff and if McKirdy had been clinical we would've been level. Patrick looked a bit stiff when he came on, hopefully he can loosen up at half-time.

I thought McKirdy was at it Pig-his recovery time was astonishing from the first bullet.

I agree Swindon are physical but it’s a game when you need to be-wind blowing in all directions and you need to get stuck in.

If we score next we may get something out of this

Solid result in the context of the season, unbeaten in 5 and most importantly another point further away from the drop.

Six points currently off a top-half finish.
Certainly doable although we've unfortunately no more games left to play against Walsall.

Totall7agree with all of that...Beech just said Mckirdys shin is a mess from that first tackle ...not even a free kick

Considering the horrible windy conditions I thought we were excellent. They started on top first 20 minutes but from then on I thought we competed really well and matched them in every area.

These players are better coached, fitter, more switched on tactically and have better attitudes than anything we ever saw under Pressley. Even Bridge looks like he’s getting better and I’d just about given up on him completely awhile ago.

The 2 centre backs were excellent, particularly Hayden. But the improvement of Webster under this manager is just as impressive.

Looking forward to Tuesday. Hopefully the weather is a bit better.

For all the chat about Yates, I thought he was rubbish.Goes without saying that Hope was poor too-good trade to exit him

Hadn’t seen Hayden for a while-certainly looks the part.

Like the look of Charters-plays with his head up and got straight into the action.

Yates is far better down the middle in my opinion then out wide where he played today. He played his best football for us in the centre forward role..

Yeah I mentioned that to the guy beside me, he was on the wing today...never noticed him first half hardly.
Interesting Beech said he'd had to have words with Gethin Jones as he wasn't at it enough and Hope was his man.....but up till 3 weeks they were sharing a car as mates he said.

Tommy Wright back as well today.

First time I have been for a while and I thought we did well considering the tough conditions. We stood off them too much in the first 20 minutes but in the second half I thought we looked the better team. One of the reasons we were poor to start with is because we went direct to Alessandra which is not his game, the more we fed him on the floor the better we played. Hayden was excellent and Webster defended well, not sure his distribution was up to much though! Lots of promise and kudos to Beech for the way he has turned things round, we look like a team who are willing to play for each other.

After a dodgy first 20 minutes or so we did really well in difficult conditions. great fighting spirit in the second half and almost nicked it at the end. Centre backs did well and M Jones played a few telling passes as he played further forward, linking up well with Guy. Patrick did well second half.

Amazed than there were no bookings despite a number of cynical fouls by Swindon ( including two by Hope in a short space of time before he was subbed )

As mentioned above, I too thought that Bridge looked a different player to a while back. He played with purpose and enthusiasm.

I enjoyed the game and good to walk out of the ground feeling optimistic, nodding in agreement with others around you rather than joining in with the head shaking.
I thought there was a good feeling around the ground yesterday. Despite another poor opening 20-25 minutes which has been the case for the past few games, the side had some good spells, played some half decent stuff and looked the more likely to win at the end.
The fundamentals of the team, which seemed to go missing for months, seem to have reappeared.
The defence is tighter, the midfield has some bite and there’s some graft up top.
Crosses are being stopped, mistakes cut out, balls won in midfield and opposition defences stretched.
It almost feels like we’ve gone from austerity to back to basics with Beech.
He’s clearly had more carrots to dangle to prospective players than Pressley had, but so far it looks like he’s used it well. Perhaps it should come as no surprise someone who’s coached in the game for so long that his ability to spot and pick a player looks so far so good.
But as well as getting the basics of the side right in terms of how it’s set up and organised, I think he deserves real credit for his work with players who were already here. Webster’s performance are hugely improved and he was good yesterday. Bridge has played better as has Mike Jones and I thought he was second only to Aaron Hayden yesterday.
Another Jekyll & Hyde from Thomas. A couple of very funny “speculative” efforts as well as some inspired balls in from out wide. A number 9 in the box would have gobbled them up.
I think 6 weeks ago if you’d have said that a way forward included Bridge and Webster being anywhere near a starting 11 whilst at the same time dropping Olomola and Sagaf not many would have agreed. And bringing in a player not even in match day squads in Hayden is looking like a masterstroke.
We’re still 5th from bottom in Division 4 so nothing to get carried away with but at least there are good signs and finally green shoots. 5 undefeated is a half decent run.
The side’s got some belief and confidence and a bit more resilience and it’s starting to have the look of a settled side.
At least 3pm on Saturday of late has been more enjoyable and less of a test of endurance.

Did anyone notice after the goal Aaron Hayden stuck the ball up his shirt and put his thumb in his mouth? Looks like there maybe a Hayden junior on the way :)

It's nice to see a lad who couldn't get into the team a few months ago, now an important part of the team and things going well for him on and off the pitch.
