Who would be your (realistic) first choice out of interest, Nobby?

Skelton has a bit of experience with Workington and Queen of the South as well as assistant roles so he's not exactly a rookie.

He wouldn't be my first choice but I would rather have him in the job than some of the usual suspects.

I reckon Skelton is going to get the job now. I think he is impressing them, and obviously already being on the payroll saves money on recruiting a new guy.

This will disappoint most fans including myself. It would be a big risk which I hope wouldn't end up proving costly.

I’ve been camped in the tree just along from AJ’s house since early Mon morn and can confirm nothing has occurred yet…

Time for the club to stop dragging their feet and get a new manager in pronto, there's not even a hint about what they are doing nothing ever changes on the communication front.

I could be wrong but I think it’s all going to go tits up with the Saudis. They’ve got £50m to spend in January apparently. They’ll not get much with that.

It would be a shame for the great Newcastle support.

Another new name to consider is Mark Howard - reading between a few lines in his interviews. Would we Take That? ;)
It does sound like he is in the draw.....

Yeah Kelvin Mellor was sat beside Holdsworth in the directors box.

No prospective candidates spotted in the directors’ box or The Mullen Outburst Stand then?

Apart from the one former manager who was widely photographed of course.

There was one youngish black guy who sat beside DH and left about 10 minutes before the end. Maybe he is an aspirant. I have no idea who he was. I was sat directly behind Mr Knighton.

I think it was Kelvin mellor

The chicken has finally come home to roost this season is the culmination of 14 years of poor management by the 3 amigos. I pray I'm wrong but barring a miracle ie a change of ownership to an owner with the business nous and passion to see this clubs potential and have a plan to fulfil it.
Or a temporary reprieve by finding a manager who has a magic wand, even then unless there is a change at the top the decline will continue with only one end result.

Ryan Mason, the youngest premier league manager ever
"Sources south of the border"?

What nonsense.

She's obviously friends with Bartley (retweets from earlier in the month, previous interviews etc) and he's the one feeding her the info (the rest of which she's got from regular bookies sites) and is going on what he's told her.

Bartley's obviously applied, but also obviously has a big flappy gob so will not be considered.
Would be a definite coup to persuade Mason to come, but what's his experience of tier four? Did he play on loan for Yeovil at some point?

Anyway, he's southern based with a young family and appears settled at Spurs with a great position in player development. Why on earth would you throw that away to work for Holdsworth?

Anyway, he's almost entirely inexperienced in management at our level. Taking charge of Spurs for a few games at the end of last season with zero pressure and expectation is almost in an entirely different universe to stopping the rot in our squad. What's the comparison? Kane with Abrahams, Mellish with Son? It would be like asking a blind person to translate the Bible into Mandarin.

Just been forwarded this on whatapp. Looks like it's been forwarded a good few times. Probs BS:

Keep this to yourself....I've just been contacted by a very reliable source...I've been told the clubs number one target for the managers job is Spurs under 23 coach Ryan Mason...He took charge of the Spurs 1st team last season...
It fits with Holdsworth saying the main target had managed at a higher level, was an excellent coach and based in the south..As I say its not common knowledge and the source of the crack was told by Holdsworth...

And your reliable source or sources been on the beer pal haha but that's one of very good pedigree Reg did say he would be willing to pay compensation if the right candidate comes available

It's an awkward one we all want 3 points on sat but at the same time fear any success could lead to the 3 amigos taking the cheap way out and give Skelton the job, I've nothing against him but right now we need someone with the experience and tactical nous to get us out of the mess we are in.

Csaba Laszlo is a leftfield addition to the market, around 16/1.

Ex-Hearts and Dundee United…

Utter shite, him as a manager, I'm sure he has applied

They looked very chipper at training yesterday. Despite what Gavin Skelton says I'm guessing quite a few will be glad to see the back of Beech.
Skelton's first pre-match interview is a total embarrassment.

Someone needs to tell him now Beech has left the club he no longer has to kiss his arse. But obviously, old habits die hard.

In order to improve you have to be honest enough to admit mistakes have been made and then explain how you're going to fix them. To sit there and try to make Beech sound like some sort of football Messiah is a bit weird, in all honesty.

To claim if we win on Saturday 70% of supporters will want him to get the job permanently is as deluded as anything Beech ever said.

Holdsworth mentioned a few have applied from down South, hope Tisdale is one.

He also said if the right candidate was available from another club he's willing to pay compensation

Dis he say it in the context of a league club, or Carlisle City's level> Know which my money would be on.
