"Again, their manager is a breath of fresh air - said after the game that they were 1-0 down at half time and they didn't play well but that was my fault he said as to how he set them up - you rarely hear a manager admit a mistake."
That's three steps up on Beech.
1, Recognizing poor performance.
2, Owning a mistake.
3, Being able to fix it during a match.
Honesty and competence, revolutionary stuff.
His Wiki page makes for an interesting read.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Kelly Definitely comes with a great deal of experience and what is impressive is that a lot of it is modern - David Dunn certainly wasn't daft bringing him in.
You only have to observe the results after taking over the reigns from two different managers to see his impact.
Probably only doing it because he enjoys it mind you, decent pension plan in place, he can be relaxed and say it how he sees it whereas Beech is more like at a fledgling stage of his carer where he still needs the money so he sometimes sees things a different way and loses his rag, this is my theory anyhow.
(Before anyone says what does money matter in this, two blokes work in the same factory, one owns his house outright and one has a mortgage - both are to be made redundant and are both are down about it but which one is more stressed about the situation?)
Good fit for Barrow 'if' they can get him to take the job, my fear if I was a Barrow fan would be after reading that Wiki article it sounds like if Kelly gets a whistle from Uwe Rosler then he will be off like a shot ' Oy Rob, I have got this new gig for us in Dubai, the footballs shite and there's nee peeve but the moneys good'.
