I decided to buy a Now pass for a month of sport, mainly to see the play offs, I haven't had sky for years.

Football just isnt the same without a crowd.

Acting classes must have been popular in lockdown.

It's great to see moments of pure quality and flashes of brilliance but it still feels a bit like a reserve game.

What do others think?

From the football I’ve seen La Liga have done it the best from a visual and sound point of view. Their crowd noise sounds more realistic, and it seems to sync with what’s going on in the match. They’ve also used CGI to put fans in the stands, which despite not looking real it still gives it that more normal football on TV feel.

I support Carlisle United, if I wanted to comment on another team / match I would go to some other forum.

Believe me, I desperately want to be able to comment on Carlisle United, but at the moment there is really nothing to say that hasn't been said many times before.

I do think my post is relevant though because sooner or later we will be watching our team on iplayer playing with no fans.

It is relevant, and I agree, it's not the same. You need an atmosphere, the crowd cheering you on.

2020 is quite a year so far. We've got corona, I've agreed with Barry about stuff, and now I'm agreeing with Bumble on something.

I didn't watch the Prem matches live before lockdown and I still won't be. The only reason it's going ahead is the TV companies won't allow it to finish until they get their moneys worth.

Jock Stein said 'Football without fans is nothing' and I think he hit the nail on the head as without them it is destined to fail.

Seems to be a recurring theme with the playoffs as Exeter lose and Keith Curle loses. Neither can quite do it. Exeter fans must think they’re cursed.

Strange thing is no teams have any form going into the playoffs after the break. You could probably have a tournament inviting every club in the division and some team who were in the bottom eight in the table could end up winning it.

Would've been quite funny if Macclesfield won it after all the shenanigans by the FL to try and give them the elbow.

Cheltenham were so much better first leg, never saw this coming.

Typical Curle team, absolutely shite home performance, then a brilliant away a few days later.

I wonder if he’ll give Exeter some playoff payback in the final

Just seen the banner flown over the Etihad stadium for some deranged Burnley fans announcing "White Lives Matter Burnley" totally bloody wrong, compete idiots for doing something like that!!!!..................................but hang on a minute, replace 'White' with 'Black', I bet they would be seen as total heroes???

Exactly!
They have black lives matter on shirts and take a knee??? being the new norm but change the word black to white and it must be condemned and seen as racist!

Madness is what it is! This whole thing needs to stop ASAP as it’s having the complete opposite effect and creating racial divides where there weren’t any. End this nonsense before there’s race riots/war.
At least we’re not Stockport

WhatsApp messages have appeared from the organisers clearly stating they were targeting sterling and other players from ethnic minorities. They hoped that they would get the players to walk off. It was flown round during the silence and when they players were taking the knee. It may not have seemed overly racist but that’s the way the organisers wanted it to be seen.

It's getting to the stage where you have to be careful what you say because you're bound to upset someone. They've had their moment now let's get back to normal, whatever that is these days. All lives matter should be the statement

The whole BLM thing is turning into a buggers muddle. This is not the USA, their are problems in the UK, but we were doing OK (in my view) and making progress.

It's a London problem, with many Boroughs having over 50% BAME residents. Single parents, gangs, drugs, housing, education and low expectations are to blame, It's also mainly those from a Caribbean/African background lumped in with a few Albanians/Romanians. How often do you see Indian's and Chinese protesting ??

These areas get shed loads of money from Community Groups, Councils, Charities and Government and they are not delivering. So, instead of passing the book, it's time for these groups to stand up and be counted.

The whole BLM thing should be dropped, we don't have white cops shooting and choking black people.

Racism in the UK is real, but will get worse if we continue down the route this is taking.

Three people get killed near London by a terrorist, someone fly's a banned saying ' White Lives Matter ' and for some reason this is seen as wrong...........

I thought all marches/demos had to be authorised,if so whoever authorised them wants sacking. If they go ahead without permission they lose the moral high ground or am I being too simplistic. As has been said by others it will lead to more alleged racism imo

Back to the original question, which is a good one.

Is anyone watching these behind closed doors games?

I stopped watching Premier League games on TV years ago. I might catch the highlights on MOTD occasionally if I'm in and there's nothing else to watch. All in all it doesn't interest me, with its saturation coverage of the usual top 6 teams, the inane punditry, and boring interviews.

I've watched a few, it's different and ' bare ' , canned atmosphere on Sky helps a bit, but no one is playing to the gallery (players or Managers)

Last night's game was OK, the Hammers couldn't put a break/attack together without mistakes and giving the ball away, not many scoring chances.

Moyes has a poisoned chalice, the Hammers will be lucky to survive.

Spurs weren't great, Mourinho looks as if he's lost his edge in favour of a pout.......
