Training with us this week apparently, quite the goal scoring record in non-league.

Was on trial at Newcastle last month but they didn't offer him a contract.

Surely worth a shot at least until the end of the season.

Hebburn want a fee apparently - a smaller up front fee than they want and larger sell on for them obvious answer for both parties and the lad. Hope we can sort something - have a good feeling about him - nowt rational, just feels right.

Cant blame them at all for wanting a sell on fee. Its what we always say we want when selling upwards.

Pleased with this one, I imagine he’ll be an impact substitute.

These are the type of signing we don’t gamble on enough, other clubs at our level seem to profit hugely off of them.

With him Ozzie, JJ, Tour'e, Patrick, Dickinson and Alessandra to choose from. I cant remember the last time we had such depth up front.
Should be capable of scaring most defences in this league. Roll on the goals and promo.
The last two additions will hopefully help us start putting a bigger percentage of the chances we create into the back of the net.

Ozzie and Cedwyn look different types of strikers to what we have, which is good as it gives us the ability to change things in a game if it’s not going to plan.

Six appearances for a total of 22 mins. What's the point in bringing him in? Nobody can seriously be expected to make much of an impact being brought on in the 87 minute every time.

And its not as if we've been free scoring and couldn't fit him in.

I bet he'd wished he'd stopped at Hebburn as they are in the FA Vase final at Wembley today.

Whilst I would like to have seen Scott involved more this half of the season I think he was only ever signed as an experiment.

Football is football but it's a massive step up to League 2 in terms of standard, fitness and just general commitment.

I do think he'd have played more if we hadn't had such a bad run in the weeks after he signed, it probably wasn't a time to throw in someone with no league experience to get results.

Hopefully he'll start at the weekend and I'd like to see us extend his deal into next season as he's only going to improve with his first proper pre-season.

It's where the game is a bit rotten , in my opinion.
We loan out players that are on the books of clubs a division or so higher, that said clubs have no intention of playing themselves any time soon, we sign players for the future that are never likely to play.
Then we plead poverty, cut non-playing staff wages and get handouts from the taxpayer.
Some of the players that have come down on loan to us are so obviously never going to play at a high level.
People dont like other clubs doing it but don't mind their own club doing it.
I don't like it

Maybe he hasn’t yet adapted to being a full time footballer. He’ll have been training 1 or 2 nights a week at Hebburn and then playing on a Saturday. To all of a sudden come into a full time professional environment mid season where all the players are much fitter can’t have been that easy. He’ll have been playing catch up, and it probably didn’t help that we couldn’t train for a few weeks because of COVID and no training facilities. I doubt turning pro mid season is as easy some think and you probably don’t just adjust over night.

Maybe if he gets kept on, a full preseason with everyone starting from a similar level of fitness will do him good and he’ll be better for it.

We take kids from the Premier League teams downwards for match experience yet send our own kids to Workington.

Worst thing is that we sometimes get the players with the promise that we have to play them regardless of quality or no more.

If he's not good enough he's not good enough I guess. What concerns me is that Zanzala couldn't get a game, then one 90th minute tap in against Grimsby, he was in the team, and now he is our best striker. Not even giving Scott a chance to show what he can do smacks of lack of imagination. On a 13 match losing run he has to be worth a shot, he can't be worse than what is out there and his determination to do well might just carry him through

I do understand when people say 'you don't see him train every day' but this saying means nothing to me.

We all know managers who have their favourites but maybe Beech doesn't fancy the lad but another manager would - unless we ourselves as fans get a look then we are just taking one mans word for it that he is no good and this doesn't sit right with me.

Beech needs to remember that even Jason Price was instrumental in winning us one of the only cups that we have ever won.

Scott has only played 3 full games in the reserves and yet has 4 goals which goes to underline that playing games is the right way to judge someone not the training pitch.
Pressley did the same with Hayden judging him in training and not giving him a game and look how that turned out.
He might not make the grade but given our lack of goals when we were struggling he might have also made the difference if he'd been given a chance.
If he gets the push without been given a chance he may well come back to haunt us our record of letting strikers go who go on to do well is pretty grim.

You’re not wrong there. Madden, Wells and Murray have scored 492 goals since they left! :D

Beech the rookie manager fails to give a rookie striker a chance.

Beech can't win here now though as if he plays him and he is shite (hard to judge from one game I know) then he will get grief for signing him and here we are giving him grief for not playing him.

If I were Beech I would eat the humble pie and play him personally - Zanzala saved his job I reckon so he stayed loyal but Scott could be a great asset to him as well.

Weren't we out of the Mickey Mouse cup as well before we signed him as this is where he would have got game time probably.

We have a friendly against Hebburn in
pre season won't look great if we release Scott. As it's sort of payment for the signing.
He must at least be worth giving a contact until Jan so he can finally get some games, especially after pre seasin training.

It was a good example of Hayden and Pressley as we were led to believe hat Hayden's attitude wasn't right in training.

Of all our players Hayden seems to have one of the best attitudes so I don't know what Pressley meant by this, we have seen enough of his to know that he is decent honest pro - not enough attitude about him at times.

Like Hayden I would like an opportunity for myself to see if he needs binned or not.

Like Murray there were better more experienced options ahead of him.

Scott hasn't got as much competition as the others, especially since Christmas.

Sounds like he might not play him on sat as aparently players have to earn the right to play in the first team, quite how you can do that when your not given a game and there are no non first team games is behind me.
If he releases him without giving him any decent pitch time that's really off.
