Elliot Watt signed for Bradford. Good signing for them.

That’s some impressive but no doubt expensive business from Salford. I’d expect them to be right up there this season with signings like Lowe and Clarke.

The wages Salford must be throwing about. Honestly hope they flog it again. At a time where clubs should be moving to protect themselves and be sustainable you get the likes of them and Forest Green at our level losing millions with tiny fanbases

Cambridge signed Wes Hoolahan could be a great signing for them but needs players around him if they wanted promotion, also see that Mansfield are buying everyone around them. Wish we’d announce some signings.

I don't know why people are getting so majorly het up about signings.

It's six weeks yet until a season starts which nobody knows anything about how it will pan out, and even if you'll be able to go the games or get a season ticket.

It seems pretty obvious that we already have players in the bank, but aren't announcing them yet for whatever reason.

Hardly as if we're going to turn up on the first day of the season with eight players.

Ian Henderson looks likely to join Salford. We were linked with him a few weeks ago, but obviously Salford throwing silly money around makes it a no brained for him.

Aye likes of Salford, Bolton, Bradford and Mansfield getting their moves done before any form of Salary Cap is possibly implemented - If a deal is already done it likely won’t count towards it!

Think the salary cap has been put back CCU (Peterborough owner said so on a podcast he does with a Bradford feller). Bigger clubs reckoning it was being implemented too quickly.
Bad news for us, as will be even further behind in terms of wages, as witnessed by the clubs you mention.

I know it's not the case for redundancy, but are clubs allowed to hire staff for the exact same role (e.g. players) if you have furloughed others in that position?

They definitely can't furlough new employees so anyone we sign we'd have to start paying immediately

A lot of clubs will have to start getting players back to training soon, some have already done this . As the furloughed players technically could not be requested to do a fitness regime while being furloughed. (Of course most players will have likely followed ones ) but 6 weeks is not a long period of time. We probably should have brought players back this week as soon as they new when the season was restarting .

I understand clubs will have an issue with the financial aspects of this.

The league 2 season starts in 6 weeks on Saturday. But from what Clibbens said in interview there’ll likely be a League Cup tie the week before. So that’ll make it 5 weeks.

Players haven’t played for nearly 5 months. They’ll need a fair bit of proper training and friendlies to get them back up to speed. Surely all the players including any signings be in full training Monday, if not this weekend.

Old days? You mean last summer?

Pressley’s “super fittest team In the league” were blowing out of their arses by half time in most games I saw. Last pre season must have been the most shockingly badly planned and badly scheduled pre season we’ve had since the Roddy days.

He was the one player I was really hoping we’d get this summer but the fact is we can’t compete with Salford unfortunately, location-wise and finance-wise. Experienced striker who guarantees goals, he’ll be one of the standout players in this division next season.

12 teams in League 2 still to sign a player, so there's a lot more than us playing a waiting game.

There'll be that many players to choose from it'll be like shopping in Poundland with someone else's credit card, carnage.
