Sick of covid and politics so thought i would recommend a couple of books.
Not much of a reader to be honest except when on holiday but there was a article in the news and star recently about belle vue author Mike Craven so i bought the first two books in the series about the shap detective Washington poe.
The puppet show is about a series of murders in stone circles and the second book Black Summer is about a chef from Cotehill accused of killing his daughter, both excellent in my opinion.

Yes read 3 of his books. Excellent reads and one started on Cockermouth golf course, which is just up from my house.

The Puppet Show was in the top ten bestsellers in Russia. I bought it for my wife's grandmother. Very good book. Denzil Meyrick is very good as well in that genre

I'm always looking out for new authors in the crime/detective genre. I've just bought three of his books on all your recommendations. They'd better be good!

Been on my list of books/authors to read for a while but never got round to. Think I will have a look at these to help pass away lockdown.

I've now read three of his books now. Reading a fourth at the moment and another one still to go.
All very good. Particularly as you can picture a lot of the actual places mentioned, although it does turn you into a bit of
a pedant i.e. Alston is a town not a village.
