Looks like they have made a loan to the 1921 company-registered at Companies House.

Yes I think I would expect them to put a decent statement out. They've been after investment for years so if they've finally got it then why wouldn't they say? Your being a right fanny lately deckchair ;)

Is a loan investment ? Though I feel that question was gone through 100 times over during the last 12 months.

Apologies Dancing, not my intention.

Just gets on my nerves that-
A) people seem to think everything, regardless of whether they realistically have any impact on it, is the boards fault
B) people seem to feel entitled to know the ins and outside of every single thing at the club, far more than any fans of other clubs I know do. Forgetting that the club is a business and they wouldn't expect to know the same about any other business.

Coupled with personal and work stress lately, has probably turned me into a irritable old git stuck inside a mid-20s body.

I blame your spats with NS. Seriously though if it was a few grand loan with no consequence then fine but the big thing for me is the charge on the ground. I know everyone says Day is a good bloke but what if at some point in the future it was called in?. I think its important people know why their ground has been secured by a outside party. Id expect most fans up and down the country would have a interest if it was their ground.

Under normal circumstances perhaps the club wouldn't need to report this. However, given the accusations of secrets , lies, lack of communication etc they have missed the bus again. Couple to that the can of worms that's been opened with all this speculation it another public relations disaster.

Would you expect the club to release the details of everything they do ?

Did you put a copy of your mortgage agreement out to the public when you signed it ?

On this yes , think they've been caught out by somebody's sharp eyes / digging into info in the public domain. Par for Kim jong Jenkins secret society tho .

It would give them brownie points with the fans who they know are desperate for positivity to come clean.

The charge is the downside......however possibly PD said no security no money !

Real cash into the Club is good. Cash in (covered by a charge over the club) and debt out is bad. (why would anyone buy someone's debts unless they also got something in addition)

Looking back to recent history, FS was owed over £1.0m which he loaned us to get rid of the FGB mortgage debt. So it was no cash in, but expensive debt out. I assume covered by a debenture over the Club.

FS writes off the debts, this (I assume) cancels the debenture and we have assets to secure further loans.

Bank business loans are cheap (2-3% over base) however they need re-paid.

White knight puts significant dosh in (secured by the ground) which it is assumed he will not want re-paid.

If this is it, then Win, Win, Win...........

As AJ is allegedly owed a stack, why did he not secure this against the assets ?

Whatever you think about Mr Day, this prevents the others raising money against the ground to repay themselves like Knighton did. Has Mr Day put this money in place to repay PFD as suggested further up? time will tell, but now there is one club asset that the BOD have less control over, Mr Day has a foot well wedged in the door now it would appear.

Almost certainly PFD will be repaid from EWM's loan. PFD filed its accounts to the end of April 2016 in January 2017. Nobody noticed that the loan to CUFC (1921) which then stood at £690,750 had become repayable within 12 months. i.e. by 30th April 2017 at the latest. On that basis the loan from EWM may just be a round £1 million.

Amazed nobody else has picked up on this post...

Wonder who's decision. AJ or his sons? Maybe joint? Given PFD expansion plans, they obviously want everything in order...

CCU, I think that explains the delay in signing off the accounts compared to last year when they had been signed on 5th November. It looks to me as if PFD (Pioneer) want to put their business relationship with the club on an arms length basis and have fixed a date before the end of April 2017 for when they get paid back. This has repercussions for the going concern sign-off of the 1921 company accounts by the auditors and forces the club to replace the PFD loan with what now seems to be a new arrangement with EWM. I suppose if no-one else came forward then AJ himself would have had to stump up the cash out of his own pocket.

I wrote about the accounting treatment of loans under FRS 102 a feweeks ago-I think that's why the loan in Pioneer will have terms attached to it so it isn't written off by the auditors.Marko will confirm if he is still alive.I also wrote about going concern issues-always a problem for football clubs at all levels.

I don't see EWM paying off dead loans but we shall see when the detail is revealed.

I do think this is a positive step for all-and I include the current stakeholders in that statement as the Club clearly needs refinanced properly and aggressively

They'll need to be quick, because the folk from Gretna are already talking about independence from Scotland after Miss Krankie's speech today.

Gretna is to become a tax haven and the on-shore, off-shore Banking Centre of the British Isles.

The Chinese are already on the case, and have opened a premises in the area.

We could end up like the sports direct for knitwear. Outlets all over selling 70% off all jumpers and woollen socks.

The first knitted kit. Heaviest strip going and all our fans in 'club wear' on the terraces in v necks and polo sweatshirts.

A knitted roof over the waterworks end and KC sat in the dugout dressed head to toe in an acrylic onesie.
Come on Day! Get your finger out and make it happen.

Be good if this is emergency funds to plug hole until end of season and then a fresh start for the club - bought time to iron out details.

If this has been on the table for a while and the owners have taken the flack and abuse after stringing fans along for god knows how long with the billionaire story - fair play, decent move.

If it's a simply last gasp act of desperation - fair play, decent move.

I wouldn't begrudge AJ becoming honorary life president if it did become a takeover - the bloke is a fan and has put his cash in over time.

It's what would happen to Nixon, Pattinson and Clibbens that is important - These three have a negative impact in most fans eyes.

Kidd and King would get a chance to prove their worth under new MD/Chief Exec for me - Working under the current regime must be frustrating!

Would also be interested in any potential Trust involvement and/or possible dilution.

Might Clibbens be getting a slightly unfair deal because he's effectively the mouthpiece for AJ, JN and, to a lesser extent SP?

If he had been brought in after a takeover by new owners might he be looked on more favourably? Guilty by association, perhaps?

Totally disagree. Someone told Barry at one of those fans seminars, where he goes and annoys people, that Clibbens is an arsehole so we've all got to hate him and hound him out the club. It's the law.
