An easy win against sub-standard opposition.

The game was over within 15mins, and the second half was a waste of time once the Subs started coming on.

Anyways, onwards…

Not many members left on here to comment then, I guess the cartel have really [censored] this website up then, its become a total joke......

The beauty of any match thread is that it is a Kessler free zone.

For those of us that live outside Cumbria can someone give a run down of how the new players did tonight.

An ok game Mampala was our most effective forward, a little disappointed in Clough apart from his free kick he is a bit to keen on looking for free kicks goes down way to easy hopefully CB can remove that habit. Some good performances though else where, it’s good to see the young lads step up and not be fazed which bodes well but until the proper kick off we are not going to know whether we are going to challenge at the top or the bottom of the league
Still think there are pieces missing from the puzzle not much in the way of creativity or an out and out centre forward although Mampala might fill that role.

Positives. Agree with the guy above, Mampala looked well above Halifax standard. He takes too much time and too many touches but that I think will get beaten out of him when the league starts. Clough was busy, his free kicks are a definite weapon. MacDonald came on and looked good. Bell looked useful, didn't give the ball away. Dickenson beat both his full backs for pace constantly, and the second goal was very good.

Negatives. I think I'm biased against Whelan but on the odd occasions Halifax attacked he looked way out of position. Once the second goal went in, we had little creation. When Mampala went off we had nothing, balls into the box, no one there- Pressley's false 9 all over again. Toure ran and ran and went nowhere.

We are woefully short of players. Whelan instils no confidence in me. After 70 minutes we had Whelan at centre back, Mellish at left back and no striker. If that is the squad on 1 September it is going to be a long season.
