Ash Hunter would be a good signing.

Always causes us problems.

He always looked good when he played or Fleetwood, but I'm not sure about Salford. Salford seemed adept at taking good players and making them average.

Pollock at Northampton is the one all their fans are disappointed to lose. They had some good looking loanees. Eppiah from Leicester and Magloire got good reports

St johnston are having a rebuild. Butterfield and parish are over 30 but would be decent. Bair and vertainen have impressed on occasion. Hendry would be a great signing, but too expensive for us
I've seen a bit of Bair in the flesh and watched him in training a few times, he's nowhere near good enough for our level.

I haven't followed his career in Scotland, how many goals has he scored?

Scott Pollock of Northampton had 'youtube fame' prior to turning pro.

Careful not to mistake actually Cobblers fans views with views of his followers

Some of the guys came over. One of them has been a season ticket holder and a bit more at St J since the end of the 80s. Assuming they get past Caley on Monday it's odds on that Davidson will go. The recruitment team are looking at players who will get them to mid-table , Spittal, Scott Allen, Dylan McGeouch. He recommended Bair and the Finn as young players who might have development potential and could cope with 4th division football.

Touche Muz. Never seen him play. I know Brady said in January we don't need to bring in a midfielder, we have Pollock. He then played a few games. End of the season, Brady said he didn't train well and he's released. On the Northampton board, they seemed to like him.

Saturday gone (21st) was the deadline for publishing Retained Lists unless teams have been playing in the Play-Offs.

Wigan and Wimbledon are the only teams in L1 & L2 to not produce them publicly.

Play-Off teams still to declare are Mansfield, Port Vale, Swindon, Sunderland and Wycombe.

Is it today the offers to Dickinson et al expire?
Why not put up retained lists for the Scottish Premiership? The club is much closer to Motherwell than Crawley

Watched Hendry play in the under 23s for Saints and he was impressive, but could see him going to Aberdeen.

Well I can't fault your choice of player, but he's been a first team regular at St J for a few years. He's played over 70 first team games. Was he not even on loan at Aberdeen? He'll go to a club of the stature of Aberdeen, not us.

I have no idea how good Bair is. He's played 7 times at Saints, all off the bench, 2 of those were against Rangers and Celtic, so you would imagine he'd look better against Crawley than the Europa League finalists. Who knows. Last year we signed Abrahams, Whelan, Clough and Mampala, we have to do better. And we need a forward to play with Patrick, Dennis is never going to get properly fit at his age, Tobi looks good in flashes, but I'm not 100% convinced.

I agree Hendry is far too good for us. Wouldn’t touch Bair with a barge pole, only scored three goals in his career. Would definitely be looking at Kieran O’Hara as our number one next season, was very good for Macclesfield at this level. Toumani Diagouraga would be a useful signing to bring experience into the midfield, probably won’t play every game but good to have around the squad. Grimshaw or Donnelly from Motherwell are good players who’ve been released. Personally wouldn’t be surprised if we look at players who’ve been released from Premier League Academies.

Not so sure about Diagouraga, he is 35? I guess it depends on what the strategy is. Millen made the point when we lost to Sutton (?), they are not tied into signing 19 year olds. January indicates that Simpson and Abbott will have more flexibility.

Don't know much about O'Hara. He seems to end up as reserve wherever he goes.

The 2 from Motherwell are good players. Grimshaw I couldn't see us signing, we have Senior at right back, and he is due in the first team in October I believe. Donnelly would be good, he can cover right back then move into centre mid or defence when Senior is fit, so he would be a smart signing. Jordan Roberts has always looked very good at L2 level, Liam Shaw would be a very good signing for us if he would come.

Sheffield Wednesday fans I know are reasonably upset they've released Sam Hutchinson.

He's no spring chicken, but could he do a job for us?

He would be a good signing though I’m guessing he can stay in L1? At 32 someone a player coach role might find attractive, though we don’t seem to do those. I believe he is in the Kev Gray mould. They released Dunkley as well, is he any good? Alex Hunt got very good write ups at Grimsby, could be worth a punt on loan.

Do we know what formation Simpson wants to play? Beech was 4231 while Millen was forced into 532. Hopefully we’ll get some pace in midfield.
