I know his goal scoring isn't the best , but I've never been one to expect a lot of goals from Target men, care more about there hold up play.
I have a feeling he may match up well with Patrick in terms of playing styles.

The target man is a dying breed in football ,but so often you see the teams who do well still use them , even if they don't score it allows the team to get higher up the pitch and creates an outlet when under pressure.
Not the greatest scoring record but that tends to mean very little in League Two. We've needed a battering ram up top for some time so he fits the bill. Much relieved that he is our player, could be an asset.
They will be scrutinising the lads ability on You Tube as we speak, looking for the tiniest little weakness, then spouting the usual crap on here.......good luck fella, I reckon you will prove to be an excellent signing.....
Looks like a cracking signing on every level - young, plenty of potential, has experience of PL setups as well as league 2, big, strong… and a two year contract too.
As others have mentioned, he brings something to the table which we lacked last season. Looking forward to seeing him in action!

I have only seen him play once for Leeds, came on as sub in the championship. Put himself about, but not much finesse.
Saw him play well for Port Vale at BP, but was wide right from memory.
Has to be a good signing as a target man, something we have been crying out for for years. Wasn't sure target men would be Simmy's bag mind.
Don't think he will be the goal scoring solution (maybe 10 - 15) but hopefuly will create for a nippy striker next to him.

He did play wide right for Port Vale I had an eye on him as he was a player I thought we might get on loan at some point
A few on here including myself were touting for us to sign him at least two seasons ago when it was blatantly obvious we neede a player of his ilk through the door.
