Now the line-up is known (Unless the Stevenage/Macclesfield situation changes!) we’ll set up a Thread for all discussion on the other teams in the Division - We’ll keep Transfers on the other Thread though!

With the addition of Barrow and Harrogate, and Bolton and Tranmere coming down from L1, there’s definitely a more ‘Northern’ feel to the map!

Kewell signed for Galatasary roughly 8yrs after the tragic incident in Istanbul, and had been at Liverpool for 5yrs.

Do you hate Hasselbaink for going to watch Galatasary in 2017 and tweeting “An incredible atmosphere at Galatasary tonight”?

Will Alioski be subject to abuse if he joins Galatasary this Summer as is currently rumoured?

Not sure time will ever heal the hatred felt to him. He was a [censored] for going to Liverpool, but you could see the football sense in it. An awful night in Turkey will always be off limits to Leeds fans, same as Hillsborough for your lot.
Jimmy Piggybanks was hated long before that tweet.
Yeak, Alioski will be persona non grata if he goes there (not that it will bother him).
Hating ex players is a big, nonsensical thing for Leeds fans (think Alan Smith), but do not think there is anything wrong with hating Kewell and everything he stands for.

The Australian national anthem ?

December 1984, Carlislewhite.

Okay, wasn't aware, but not convinced there is a parallel.

I would argue there is a parallel - and both would be bollocks.

Neither Kewell, Jansen or Branthwaite have murdered anyone - OMG, I forgot he signed for Liverpool as well......what a rotter !!!!
Football supporters and their bitterness/hatred knows no bounds.

Agree to differ TSW. Just remember Kewell was in Galatasary when the events happened.

Big David Wheater has left the latics by mutual consent. Surely I’m not the only one who would offer him a contract to stabilise the defence till the end of the season,

Not sure what the rulings are but he’s been left out of their squad all season so he won’t have made an appearance for any efl club

Only one more win than us in 2021, that's with a bigger budget and a supposedly experienced manager.

I agree we are on a terrible run but we aren't the only ones.

Or you could say that they are still in for a push at promotion, they may have just won a cup but instead of sitting on their hands they thought that just like Barrow a quick change is needed as we can still salvage something.

Even when glaringly obvious something isn't working we will press on because it is the Carlisle way, we are aware of what is needed but have always been too tight to immediately do it as it 'might' get better therefore making the decision cheaper.

We may laugh at our tinpot neighbours Barrow but they are a better run football club than we are.

I am moving away from the rookie style manager for us ever again unless he brings an experienced head in with him, the other bloke might have an idea whilst the manager is still scratching his balls wondering what to do next.

PS. Is there any other team in the football league who's never been to an football league play-off final since they started in '87 ? Obvs not counting shite who've only been here for 5 minutes like Forest Green.

That's 34 seasons of 3 finals = 34 * 3 * 2 = 204 different club appearances and we've never got there, which is weird considering we've had straight-up promotions and 6 ldv finals

Not to mention that we’ve made the playoff semis three separate times without ever taking the next step (admittedly we were unfortunate with late goals on two of those three occasions- Dougie ‘the [censored]’ Freedman, Jonny ‘the turd’ Howson, and Jack ‘treasonist’ Stacey with three last minute goals).

We’ve also bottled playoff pushes three or four times and are looking hard pushed to make this years playoffs after being in a commanding position just a few short weeks ago.

I hate the playoffs. Except for the conference playoffs, of course.

Its a right old merry-go-round in the lower leagues for managers.

Bowyer, Cooke, Curle, Wellens, Sheridan, Cowley, Tisdale, Barton, Hill, Westley, Kewell, Hurst, etc. Round and round they go! :D

It’s Colchester, 31 million in debt.

They were already in deep trouble prior to Covid so tipped them over. No one will come in with that much debt.

Bradfords another to keep an eye on.

That’s an astonishing amount of debt, though it does explain why they released some of their better players at the end of
last season. Bradford payed fees for players in January which seemed ludicrous to me. The desperation for success is not a price worth paying if the football club dies.

When Colchester came down from D2/Championship their Chairman published an article in the programme showing that he was paying £2.5m a year to keep them afloat. The point being he could no longer afford that kind of cash. That most of been 12 years ago now, most of the debt is presumably left over from that era

Unlikely to be Bradford, it's common knowledge that Elliot Watt chose them over CUFC in the summer because BCFC could afford to splash out serious cash.

It can only be Bolton really. They were still paying absolute massive wages in league one.

They didn’t have relegation clauses and had a number players on between £10k and £18k a week on long contracts.

It was Colchester, the rumour anyway, as their accounts came out and their huge debt is there and they applied for an emergency monitored loan to pay HMRC.

It might be out of the owners hands soon anyway. The owner is owed 26 million of the 31 million debt. Businesses that are owed the rest want it back so it’s a case of the owner putting more money in if he’s ever to see any of the 26 million again.

There’ll be a big explosion of clubs in trouble, next couple of years, so it’ll be pick the one that isn’t at threat of administration.

The owner, Cowling, definitely not happy about the leak from the EFL. Taken the huff and won’t take the monitored loan anymore.

His main businesses are recruitment and makes a lot of profit but obviously with the current situation it’s gone tits up and has had to sell some of the companies assets.

What’s sure though is that sort of business plan can’t be sustainable for the long term.

The Colchester boss runs Jobserve who are big in well-paid computing jobs. The IT industry is booming but there is a shortage of candidates and with no prospect currently of bringing them in from Europe, jobs are going unfilled. Although Colchester as a town is expanding, most people who've moved there are from East London and still support West Ham so attendances are unlikely to grow much when normality returns.

Maybe Colchester will be in the market for a Holdsworth next season to slash their wage bill.

Dropping like a stone when it looked like finally being their season.

I wouldn't have sacked him mind you, unless there are behind the scenes goings on that cannot be sorted out that we don't know about of course.

Perhaps their owner ate one of his own nut roasts and got so constipated that he was outraged, yes - it got to that point where you have a pain in your chest and it hurts when you breathe in and you think that you are having a heart attack.

Feeling this way and getting beaten by the Birmingham whipping boys must have tipped the scale and he sacked him in a frenzy of pain..

Get well soon Dale - I hope that you find those couple of farts that will dislodge the blockage and bring you relief.
