Well done admin. Must of took a good few hours getting hold of all the transfers.

Bradford and Colchester best business so far

Monthe, labadie and Wilkinson look good at Walsall

Salford been busy, suppose it means nothing, they could sign Messi and still bugger it up.

Nah, BBC keep a list of them, so don’t take too long to sort!

There’s a huge possibility that we won’t be playing Swindon next season as they might cease to exist! Pierce Sweeney who signed for them a couple of weeks ago has just left.

We certainly have not thrown everything into transfers. Hope the ones who have arrived work out but looks like strength in depth will rely on loans. Colchester seem to have picked up wome canny players

Colchester just signed Cameron Coxe on loan from Solihull Moors. Rather strange signing from where I’m looking at it. Played against us in the FA cup games against Cardiff a few years back and hasn’t done much since…

Swindon sign Pierce Sweeney then release him a day later

Swindon are losing 30k a week I also hearing things isn’t good at Newport too
2 months ago
I still think it’ll be 2024 when shit hits the fan for a lot of clubs and the EFL will have a big decision to make on these loans.

In the meantime a lot of clubs without financial backing will struggle.

Newport should be ok, but if Swindon don’t get taken over there’ll be gone before the season starts.

Salford City lost £65,000 a week in their first season in the EFL in 2019/20 and total losses now exceed £9 million. Disappointing that
@GNev2
takes advantage of legislation to only show the bare minimum information. Other clubs such as Carlisle in L2 far more transparent.

Disappointing? Yeah, just a bit.

Another year with the same level of losses adds over £3 million on to that, so do the EFL consider that to be sustainable or another Bury/Swindon debacle?

The EFL will probably show strong decision making and elect to dither until it's too late.

Swindon Town have now been put under a transfer embargo. With only 8 players signed and no management in place things will be tough!

Oldham and Scunthorpe also embargoed
Long Season for them playing catch up…
What do the embargoes mean for signing players?
Under the EFL's operational rules surrounding embargoes, clubs do have some means of strengthening their squads "to protect the integrity" of the competition.

Clubs are permitted to 'staff up' so they have 23 players of professional standing, which is termed as players to have made at least one appearance for any club in any first-team competition.

If they have less than 23 players they are allowed, within a transfer window, to sign free agents on a maximum of one-year deals or bring in players on loan for up to half a season.

However, clubs cannot pay loan fees for players and cannot pay additional wages on top of the salary the player receives at their parent club.

Interesting article on BBC with David Wheater about Oldham in the last couple of years:
Interesting article on BBC with David Wheater about Oldham in the last couple of years:

Must have been on a fair whack if furlough was a 70% pay cut for him. Presumably he’d have been taking the max (£2500 a month) furlough would pay…

Could he do a job for us? DH and CB have both said the offer is still on the table for RB, and we have been linked with a Centre Back from Hull, so signing another is not out the question. Not a priority either, but if CB wants to play 3 at the back and wing backs, we are one short. As Armer/Dickensen would play left and Tanner/Whelan? on the right Macdonald has to improve on last season and Feeney needs to prove his fitness.

Wheater is 35 so that is an issue, but I see older midfielders running around in Div2 Maybe 35 is the new 32? Also we are sorely missing experience in the team

I wonder why he was left out of the Oldham team? He was certainly on decent wages. Perhaps he was on stupid bonuses as well which made him too expensive to play.

Rochdale now have a Manager, Robbie Stockdale in:
Luke Thomas signs for Bristol Rovers from Barnsley on a one year loan. Not the most prolific in front of goal but only 22 and plenty of experience in league 1 and the championship.

Could be a very good signing for them.
Rhys Oates signed for Mansfield, ending any lingering hopes that folk may have held of us signing him.
