I'd offer deals to Howard, Riley, Charters & Devitt.
The rest can go really to allow Simpson the spaces to build a much better squad.
How anyone can argue for keeping the likes of Devine, McD
onald or Mellor is beyond me. If we keep them then we can expect similar results next season. They aren't dreadful but we should be aiming higher now.
We won the Euromillions or something? What are we going to pay all these higher calibre players with? We are still haemorrhaging £500K a year, Jenkins has turned off the taps, Day has left the phone off the hook and we haven't got a pot to pee in.
Yes Simmo may be good at polishing a turd but may be best to rein in expectations.
I thought Concrete Rod was older, to be honest.
Yeah, I suppose you are right, probably best for all if he moves on.
I still feel there is an argument to be had that some back up players are worth keeping, but I suppose he isnt a very good example.
I have not heard that before. If that is the case then him being their No. 1 may turn out to be a more profitable option than a sale.

He have to make 400 appearances to match 10% of a £40m sale! (both figures are guesswork btw)
Before we release almost every single out-of-contract senior player, it's worth remembering we had a 20% 'success' rate when it came to agreeing new deals with players offered terms under the carpet salesman in the last two years:
May 2021
Rejected new deal: Nick Anderton, Rhys Bennett, Paul Farman, Omari Patrick and Offrande Zanzala.
Accepted new deal: Morgan Feeney
Senior players released: Dean Furman and Cedwyn Scott.
May 2020
Rejected new deal: Jack Bridge, Gethin Jones and Byron Webster
Accepted new deal: Lewis Alessandra
Senior players released: Adam Collin, Kelvin Etuhu, Louis Gray, Jack Iredale, Mike Jones, Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Harry McKirdy, Mo Sagaf and Stefan Scougall
If you look at 2021 Anderton wasn't offered was he? He was mince and disappeared off doing everyone a favour.
I don't think Farman was offered either as we had Captain potential, Norman waiting to become number1.
Patrick already knew he was off to League 1, so no discussion there.
Zanala was after £5ka week, ridiculous and hugely more than he ever got.
So the only player we had any conversations with who we didn't get was Bennett, a player who lasted 6 months at a team relegated and 6 months at a team that did its best to join them.
Scott and Furman both dropped into non league. So the one we really wanted was Feeney, and he is still with us.
We were also accepted, unfortunately, by Alessandra and Toure.
That time of year, where decision’s will start to be made soon etc…

Thoughts folks?
I’d be offering deals to Howard (Though could see him saying no?), Riley, Charters and Devitt. Also using Feeney’s option (Or better longer term deal!)
I’d look to move Abrahams on of those signed up too.
The rest of those out of contract just haven’t performed consistently enough…
(Updated Feeney & Dixon)
Simpson saying post match that one of the players has agreed to go elsewhere. My immediate thought was Feeney but he played today and we have an option so I would guess Riley. No loss at all in my view.
