I’m struggling to remember a season when we had a less potent strike force. The Richard Sendall era maybe?

Abrahams is the closest thing we have to an experienced centre forward, he is 22 with a very modest goalscoring record behind him.

Young and Mampala are academy players who even Beech doesn’t appear think are up to leading the line from the start of a league match. Their lack of impact thus far is hardly a surprise, past experience indicates there are more misses than hits with that type of signing.

Alessandra is coming towards the end of his career and while he has his strengths, he’s never been a prolific scorer.

Centre forward for me was the area we most needed to strengthen in the window.

Short of recalling Fishburn or putting Mellish up top it’s hard to see where our goals are going to come from.

It's a mystery to me how CB seems on the ball when it comes to recruiting defenders and midfielders yet absolutely hopeless when it comes to forward players.
In my opinion he handled the Scott situation badly. He sends a good young prospect out on loan (probably the shop window) treatment.
The players we have on contract are simply not good enough regardless of our style of play.

It's a problem he needs to solve very quickly or it will cost him his job.

Are the strikers shit or are we not playing to their strengths?

Exactly.
You could have Jamie Vardy and only ever hitting high hopeful balls to him from the back four....reckon he'd score many if that's the only service he ever gets?

Long ball doesn't fit the players we have, surely you have to see that and try something else. People blame wages on Zanzala and others going, I'd suspect the style has as much influence, imagine knowing you're only ever going to get balls to you with snow on them for another season??
I'd probably move too.
