Now the GE is done and dusted, and with MP’s returning to Parliament today to begin being sworn in, we’ve locked the GE Thread last night, and you can now use this one for any Westminster related stuff.

Anything Brexit related will be moved to the ongoing Brexit Thread!

If you are quoting, please add a link to back it up. Post without and the quote may be removed.

Thanks.

...........oh, another part you missed out.

"Like many wealthy men, the brothers give huge sums to charity, donating £11m to Great Ormond Street Hospital last year, and handing £3m to Alder Hey children's hospital in Liverpool last year."

So on their £3bn fortune, they earn 150-300m a year? That would be 150-300m a year after tax. VAT-free as well on your private island. And they gave away £3m. Gosh, their generosity knows no bounds. Remind me to doff my cap.

David and Frederick don't live in Brecqhou all year, partly because it is often freezing in winter. David, who suffers from ME, spends time in Switzerland because the fresh air in the Alps helps alleviate his condition. They also have a home in Monaco, where residents have tax-free status. The brother's super-yacht, Lady Beatrice,, is moored in the principality.

You would think with ME he wouldn't be such a keen advocate to shaft the NHS. Still, thanks to their employee who changed the law, the blind, agoraphobics, OCD sufferers and other mentally ill people now can't directly get a GP to support an appeal against a right to work assessment so that should liven up certain trades, long-distance lorry driving, the post. What a charming bunch of people, born in London of course.

£3.0m where did you get that from ?

£17.8m from the last entry: http://opencharities.org/charities/803696/accounts

In saying that, the Jock's have never been World for their generosity.

The Scots have an infallible cure for sea-sickness. They lean over the side of the ship with a ten pence coin in their teeth.

Not even your salary?

Which one?

Anything from anything fixed in Britain ie a farm or the British government was taxed in Britain. Anything earned in Russia, salary from business, rent, work performed for British Universities was taxed in Russia. Anything earned in cis countries was at first tax free then later taxable in the UK

You’re stealing jobs with your multiple employments-shame on you Marko!

They owned a shopping centre. Sadko? It was very popular around the turn of the century but got overtaken by the edge of town centres. That's all I know

This one is for you Kess. It pretty much sums up what I was banging on about a few days ago-companies need a purpose beyond making a profit ie looking after staff and customers and the wider community.

Persimmon are appalling at all aspects and this kind of report confirms capitalism in all its guises needs to adjust to the needs of all.

I can feel a balanced score card coming on.

So why do we publicly acknowledge the need for social care then vote for a party that cuts that care from the old, the sick and the genuinely needy?

Having taken away the right of the disabled (and everyone else) to have their dwp assessment sent to their gp Boris has now given vast exemptions to the accessibility rules on trains. Can't appeal your fit to work assessment, can't travel by train. Nothing like hurting the disabled eh? Welcome to England 2020
