Now the GE is done and dusted, and with MP’s returning to Parliament today to begin being sworn in, we’ve locked the GE Thread last night, and you can now use this one for any Westminster related stuff.

Anything Brexit related will be moved to the ongoing Brexit Thread!

If you are quoting, please add a link to back it up. Post without and the quote may be removed.

Thanks.

How can you tell Boris wont deliver what he promised CS without giving him a fair chance?

Many Labour voters were moaning about the NHS and he has put this as priority after finally hammering Brexit home.

Edinburgh trains cancelled today ... and many Glasgow trains cancelled on the return ....
But everybody's happy with our Tory transportation !!

Not enough drivers is hardly the Tories fault.....management of the system at fault

The country's in an absolute mess but it's nothing to do with the tories ... it was labour 10 years ago !

Course it was...if they hadn't squandered the country's wealth coupled with the banking crisis that nearly bankrupted the UK there would have been no need for austerity measures to build up reserves and stop borrowing so much.

I see no evidence that the country is in a mess-far from it.There is clearly inequality-there always has been. Its just more apparent due to social media.

We need a solution to inequality and unfair business practices involving employees.Boris is aware of this and is best placed to execute.I suggest all give him a chance rather than bicker and twine and indulge in constant negativity.

Food bank at Brunton Park and you see no evidence that the country is in a mess.

After 9 years of a Conservative government inequality was surely to be expected. After all that is what you voted for.

Another 5 years. More of the same or will it be different?

The difference with Labour and Tories tho howoldboy, is the Tories try to get folk to take control of their lives and strive to stand on their own two feet and work for a living......whereas Labour want to keep folk dependent on the state with big giveaways and generous benefits as reward for not bothering.

Why do Conservative voters always want to talk about Labour?

Why not take pride in what your government has achieved over the last 9 years?

So you and Boris have a lot in common?

The Labour party has started to choose a new leader without a serious debate about why they lost. The debate seems to revolve around whether a northerner would attract more votes and whether a woman would be more popular.

But I've seen nothing about how you reconcile a middle class Labour supporter, who lives in a million pound house in say Islington and is interested in identity politics, with someone who lives in a terraced house in Bishop Auckland, who might be economically left of centre but socially conservative.

Food bank at BP-maybe they should try it inside BP instead.

The Tory manifesto speaks for itself-it’s aspirational and affordable. No need to go on about it-just let them get on with it and hold them to account if they don’t.

That’s what the Labour Party should focus on-being the opposition. The leadership race is already a mess-highlighting the fact that Labour have lost their purpose given the range of candidates. There will be a young potential leader in the wings-moderate and sensible with a common touch.Just can’t see it just now because of all the dead wood and lumps of lard jostling for position. But who would want to lead this bag of ferrets?

I would like to think Kinnock would give it a shot-sensible and speaks well.Even Tories are happy to listen to him in contrast to lunatics like Pidcock who are just disciples of Momentum.

God no.
Cannot stand the Kinnocks, the Welsh windbag and his Mrs are living off payments from the EU, I can’t recall but believe around £600k a year.
Kinnock Jnr has never had a job in his life, his constituency is one of the poorest in S.Wales yet he lives in London and rarely goes near.

To be honest NS, I wouldn’t care if they never got power.
Time for a restructure of the party and a move back to the centre ground, perhaps the best thing would be the creation of a whole new party.

Care to highlight the key points then? I don't want to read it myself.

These are some of the things what Ive seen happening where I live and around the country -

Vital Services cut
Schools underfunded
Large weighting lists for CAMHS etc.
Increased food bank use

It's hard to disagree with that, in Carlisle.

Vital Services cut - I've seen disabled day centres close, not replaced and disabled support time drastically cut - along with benefits etc. I've now seen a lot of disabled people with depression as they can't go out and have lost their social clubs - this is happening i've seen it 1st hand.

Schools underfunded - My local school has cancelled educational trips as they can't afford them. 1 maths book between 2, cut down on print outs etc - this is happening also.

Waiting lists - Hard to disagree, more people are using the services but waiting lists are horrendous.

Food bank use - This is where I disagree, there's increase in use as there are there. Remove then they wed see the real struggles.

Let's hope things improve

They've made promises of change Richard, they wouldn't lie to us would they?

They'll probably take more tax off the working class to pay for it and leave their mates alone.

Schools struggle to get things on credit nowadays NS, plus they have a strict supplier list - things are more controlled now.

If people try to come here on a rubber boat, or whatever, illegally from France etc then send them back. There's no reason for them to come here pleading persecution in their home country when in fact they are already in a safe country.

France is a big country, they claim asylum there and there's no need for them to be in camps near Calais - they do this as France aren't as soft as we are and they want to come here for use of the benefits system, which they get from day 1.
